Go for it. Prince gets my vote easily. Here are just a few reasons why. 1. Better singer 2. Better songwriter 3. Electrifying live performer 4. Makes any song, even a Foo Fighters one, sound great 5. Plays almost every instrument on his albums 6. Simply because he's the coolest cat there is in rock today. 7. Has boned Kim Basinger With all the rockists here, I'm sure Hendrix will take this one.  |

I think Hendrix was great. It's just that Prince is better. Another great thing about the Purple One, no one music genre defines him. Rock, pop, soul, blues, rnb, funk, hip-hop... he's done it all. He just can't be pigeon-holed... which makes him PEW's worst nightmare.  I gotta admit though, P has the unfair advantage here of having released 25+ studio albums instead of 4. If this poll were whose first 4 albums were better, then I probably would've voted for Hendrix. Prince's first 2 albums sorta suck. But after his 3rd, Dirty Mind, there was no stopping his genius. |

A bit dicey, as these things often are, in that Prince had the benefit of Hendrix and James Brown and Sly and so on. That said, Prince, no question. BTW, while we're on the subject, one great piece of writing. |
