Deadsy are sorth of a gothband.
Loved to have seen the Floyd during the Meddle-era- Phil reminisced about those gigs ages ago. Just got the DVD of Tangerine Dream live at the Coventry Cathedral in 1975...now those were the days to see prime electronic music come to live...the Logos-concerts from '80 would have been gold too.
Wouldn't mind to have seen Queen in their heyday- same goes for Talking Heads or Roxy Music with Eno.
Still hanging to see Porcupine Tree one day.

I think Porcupine Tree played here, I think it was last autumn. I immediately thought of you, maarts. So they didn't stop by Australia? I kind of assumed that they would've.

I was hoping and I was a hair's breath away from going to Tokyo and seeing them live but it was just at a moment where I had to spend a lot of money for my booking to Holland. PT has never been to Australia...still hoping it'll come true this time.

Deadsy is Elijah Blue Allman's band. The spawn of Greg and Cher. They're sort of new wave gothy and really not related to the Allman Brothers Band in any musical way. However, Berry Oakley Jr. was in Marc Ford's (of The Black Crowes) band for a while. They were the house band at some club in Malibu and had frequent big name guests sit in. Quite a few of these shows have been bootlegged and can be found online. They're pretty good, lots of covers and smoking jams....everything a bar band ought to be.

cool thread...
lets see I saw Bowie, U2, and Pretenders (and some others) circa 1983 at the US festiveal, so that was a pretty ideal show and also at the US festival saw Police/Talking Heads/Gang of Four/Ramones/B52s/Oingo Boingo/English Beat...
seen REM and X and the mats in Hollywood clubs in the 80s, so that was kinda cool
Clash at the Hollywood Palladium (in 1982) and Smiths (at same locale in 1985) was great
and seen bowie about 12 times.......
however, I have a buddy who saw VU with Nico at Civic Hall in San Diego and said it was an amazing show...plus he saw the Doors there..so those are two shows I would have loved to have seen
and seeing Bowie in his London backyard circa Ziggy era would have been astounding...
wish I had seen Iggy and the Stooges circa 1969/1970
but I think if you made me pick one, though I've seen Style Council and Paul Weller solo, I would have loved to have seen the Jam during Setting Sons/Sound Affects era........
though Beatles would have been great, my friend saw them in the 60s and he said you couldn't hear a damn thing!!

I would've liked to have seen one or many of the concerts in which Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins and RHCP did through Oct.-Dec. 1991. That's quite a triple threat.

My grandfather's step-son lived in Seattle in the very early 90s, and said that all the big grunge bands would play surprise club shows every weekend. You'd pay three bucks to go to some shitty bar and hang out, and bam, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, or Soundgarden would show up onstage at midnight and play for a couple hours. It was like in Singles or some shit.
Loved to have been there.

Yeah, luke, that would have been super cool. That is the one thing that I regret heavily is that I never got to see Nirvana.
