Hands are tied, sweet bum. Not my computer. I already use it to burn, surf, and print. Can't afford to pay half the bill for it, so I try not to overstep my bounds.

Actually we were retarded and could have bought tickets before it sold out but we didn't want to pay a service charge again for the third time in a month... so yeah, show sold out. But that means the scalpers have got them all. Shouldn't be a problem acquiring them. This show is gonna be PACKED and weird. Bringing all kinds of strange people out of the woodwork. Can't wait.

Actually got a bit of a dilemma going on.. AIC and Mad Season have been my favourite bands for years. Now that I'm trying to pull myself out of my depression I really can't listen to AIC without it taking me back to that dark place. But I can't just leave them! Sigh. My course of action has been finding as many new bands as possible, hoping some of them will fill the void and become my new favourite, and a favourite that will be GOOD for me. I totally hear you, samples. The hole filled by a band such as Alice In Chains . . .(not to mention MAD SEASON)... is like trying to fill a Black Hole. You can keep shoving shit in there, but it'll keep gettin swallowed up & wanting more. Your course of action is the same one I would take -- but we both know there really couldn't be anyone to replace that particular Void.....so all I can do is suggest some bands that, while perhaps not able to quite replace them, will at least help to bridge the gap left or at least help fill that Hole at the same time AIC+MadSeason still resides there. The first one that comes to mind is the legendary ACID BATH. If you haven't heard them . . . well, I suggest you pick up their 5-star classic debut WHEN THE KITE STRING POPS, and take it from there. [Be warned: This album packs a vicious wallop, filled with relentlessly killer riffs and hard rockin tunes.....but the lyrics open up a private world stained in red that will forever echo in your head. And tunes like The Scream Of The Butterfly will blow your mind, with it's dark roots firmly imbedded in the legacy of The Doors. ACID BATH is about the only band that comes to mind when I try and think of who could possibly begin to replace the void left by Alice In Chains...

I love Acid Bath. Yeah.
Skinny Puppy's kind of fun. Teeth-clenchingly nasty and satisfyingly low, but not inward-gazing lowness. It's good for me, to shift from hating my guts to hating stuff outside of me. I REALLY need their new album, damn it.

Kewl, I have found my new home away from home. I love it. So in finding the new RS Project, shall I return to my RS Project role by persuading everyone to post a list of best albums from each year? To those who have already done a list, please, I ask that you would do it again being that I unfortunately didn't ever make copies of the lists back at rollingstone.com. Only one thing I ask, and this would be directed mainly toward Dr. Drumstein since he's the only one who's done his list on the new Castaway Boards: Please only pick one album for each year. If you find it too hard to pick only one for one year go with the one that you don't think any one else will pick. I'll go ahead and redo my list and will be glad to score all of them when everybody that wants to posts a list.

Thanks, pattentank, for reminding me of what my favorite 64 album is. I would ask though that you remove the ties on 2002 and 2004 so we can score these. Thanx.

Remove the ties of 2002/2004 2002- don't make me choose Yankee is clearly the more grand statement from one of the most important bands while Turn on is a fascinating journey that I listen to at least once a week Both deserve the honor of being the album of 2002 and are going to share Wine Drinking album titles as well Alright I'll go with Turn on since it did come out in 02 vs Yankee actually was only released commercially in 02 and I had been listening to it since winter 01 2002-Turn on the Bright Lights 2004- I'll remove my picks until the year is over
