See, but this CE stuff is just a misnomer. If we named it the "No fun, no happiness board", everything would be ok. God forbid someone take a break from the usual warfare going on here to have a bit of fun.

This has very little to do with what board it was posted on or whether or not Chrisfan woulda coulda shoulda deleted shins first thread. This is all about Chrisfan said she didn't want her name in the title of Ken's thread (the contents of which was not offensive), she changed it to something he didn't like so he changed it again, leaving her name out, and she deleted it anyway. She hasn't justified it in anyway except to say she just knew there was no reasoning with the lot of us (which for someone who bitches so much about others assuming they know what she's thinking is pretty fucking laughable) and then she says maybe if we'd been nicer to her in the past we could've worked something out and that we really ought to be happy she hasn't deleted more of our mindless babble. I'm not sure who would consider that fair or proper moderating, but I sure as hell don't. Let me be the first to admit I don't think any of the Sedaka kids have it in them to be impartial towards chrisfan but neither does she have the ability to be impartial towards us. Personally I'd like to see Maarts as mod, he has shown the ability to call us out when we've crossed a line but also recogonise when we're just joking. Simply put he doesn't have a dog in this fight. I don't know if he'd accept but we need a mod who's not going to take a side or this shit's just going to keep happening.

Chrisfan has already asked to be relieved of moderator duties at CE, so this is under consideration. Maarts may not want the duty, however.

Thanks, strat. I don't know if chrisfan is stepping down becuase of this but you've seen it repeatedly...either we assume she's trying to spite us or she assumes we're out to get her. I hope we can find someone somewhat impartial.

I'Itold Strat a few months ago that it was a catch-22 for me to be moderator around here. If I do anything to moderate, it's written off as a personal attack. If I do nothing, then I just have to grin and bear it when there are campaigns waged (jokingly or not) to prove that I"m insane. I've also told him that given the direction of the CE section, I have virtually no desire to post around here anymore. So those of you who do not want diverse opinions, congratulations. Those of you who want diverse opinions - I'd suggest sticking up a little more for the one or two differing viewpoint around here before they're gone too. I personally believe there will not be an effective moderator around here for as long as any sort of moderating is treated as such an affront to freedom. That applies not just to responses I've gotten on 2 occasions, but also to things that have happened in the past such as "I want a trial" boards directed at Strat-o.
