Uh... so how does your definition of a soul help your abortion argument?
If it's just energy then...

So we have kinetic energy in our bodies? Yeah, we all knew that. That's why we eat, to break down the substance to obtain the energy within.
Such as babies. Delicious, delicious babies.

Uh... so how does your definition of a soul help your abortion argument? If it's just energy then... My argument against abortion is that life is a miracle. We do not understand where this energy (or force) came from, we do not understand the why, how, etc--yet this energy (force) is responsible for human life. Therefore by defintion human life is a miracle. Consciouss existence is a blessing IMO and to deny someone that blessing is the most terrible thing you could do to another person.

PEW, if you're going to snip quotes, please be sure to attribute them correctly in the future. I indicated clearly that I was quoting Mary in that post. It may seem like a small detail to you, but we need to preserve integrity here. Please try to pay attention, and also check your PMs once in a while.

I've kind got a few different balls up in the air right now...I'll go back and correct it...

...but you didn't actually define anything, much less prove anything. I defined soul as that which connects everything to everything--that 'spark' or 'force' or energy that set the universe in motion and/or keeps the universe in motion. Ok, but as "glue" how is the soul that which makes us special as individuals?

Ok, but as "glue" how is the soul that which makes us special as individuals? This is a great question Mantis. To be honest, I'm gonna have to think about that for a second adn get back with you on it. Due to a domestic situation I have to get off the internet right now, but I'll be back tommorow and try to give you my thoughts on that.

I defined soul as that which connects everything to everything--that 'spark' or 'force' or energy that set the universe in motion and/or keeps the universe in motion. Ok, but as "glue" how is the soul that which makes us special as individuals? All right, I've given this just a little thought, but I have a pretty long answer for it. I'm not sure that I would say that the soul neccesarily makes us special as individuals. If it does then the reason why is complicated. If individuals are special, that is to say unique from other individuals, it would most likely be attributed to each individual's free will. There are also genetic things and environmental things that go into making each individual unique. Now, since genetic makeup and the environment are aspects of the universe that means that they too are derived from the soul (the energy responsible for the big bang). In a way these three different aspects (free will, genetics, environment) working together is what makes each person special, yet it also makes everyone the same in as much as the soul has created free will (since everything that exists in the universe is derived from the big bang). And it seems the reason for free will is as a devise for an individual to navigate the eniviroment and making use of the traits of our genetics to evolve in space and time. This then leads to the question "what is the purpose of evolving?" The answer could just be to keep pace with the changing universe--but why do we need to do that? Why is it so important for humans (or any living thing) to continue to live, to survive. It seems there is some locomotion within in us (and all living creatures) urging us to do so, urging us to stay alive and evolve (this could be us actually feeling the effects of the soul)...

Oh man, are we going to tell dead baby jokes now? I've got a ton of them.
How do you get 100 dead babies into a bucket? With a blender.
How do you get them out again? Fritos.

Jokes about dead babies and jokes about child abuse or child molestation seem pretty pointless to me. I think some people might think they are funny because they offend people--which may be true, but beyond the fact that these topics are considered 'inappropriate' my mainstream standards, where is the humor in them? And its not even that they offend me or that I'm appalled at them because they are inappropriate, its just I dont think they are funny. Maybe its because I live outside the confines of mainstream society anyway and don't buy into any of the mainstream bullshit, to be offened by something that the mainstream finds "inappropriate".

What's Funnier than a dead baby? Dead Baby in a clown costume.
How do you make a dead baby float? Take your foot off of it's head.
What's brown and gurgles? A baby in a casserole.
How many babies does it take to paint a house? Depends how hard you throw them.
Why didn't they crucify baby Jesus? I don't know why they didn't either.

What's the difference between a truck full of dead babies and a truck full of bowling balls? You can't load the truck full of bowling balls with a pitchfork.
What's red and crawls up your leg? A homesick abortion.
What's worse than finding 5 dead babies in a trashcan? Finding 1 dead baby in 5 trashcans.
What's more disgusting than a pile of 20 dead babies? A pile of 20 dead babies with one live one at the bottom trying to eat its way out.
What's more disgusting than that? He made it.

Therefore your only form of rebellion is watching these programs that are considered so inappropriate according to "mainstream" standards? It someonehow satisfies your hatred for the mainstream lifestyle you have imprisoned yourself within?
