Well actually, I was going more for a straight-forward sarcastic tone, implying that not only are you a fucking idiot if you couldn't catch the homophobia there, but you're a pretty much a piece of shit just for being able to find a Snickers commercial funny. For the record, the actual reason they complained was not that ad, but the "vote for the ending" website, which involved one of them beating the other with a wrench in order to prove his manhood, among other more violent things. What's more, they also showed various Bears and Colts players responding to the video. Pretty much every single response was of the "they kissed, that's so disgusting!" variety. The above ad by itself isn't homophobic...if anything, it's making fun OF homophobes and the lengths they are willing to go to be that way. But the campaign was an entirely different situation. Still debatable as to how much so. But there's the whole scoop. For the record. |

Of course it's a natural reaction, a reaction caused by taught societal attitudes in our masculine society. I highly doubt that you would call it a natural reaction if he were to have a smile on his face during a Snickers commercial showing two women kissing (which he probably would). You know the argument, homosexuality is unnatural, so it must be so for lesbians as well (or does it only work for the men)? I wonder if it was a natural reaction when those two dipshits beat the fuck out of Matthew Shephard and left him to die tied to a fence for supposedly making a pass at them. It is natural for humans to get pissed off and resort to violence. It's been happening for years. Look! Look! It's a natural reaction the thought police have termed a hate crime. It's all good, it's fucking natural. It's so motherfucking natural, we're going to term it "certified organic." |
