One can only hope that she melts down, but I still liked Howard Dean WAY WAY WAY more than Kerry. I'm still baffled why Dean being passionate was a reason to go with Kerry.... However, if Clinton does melt down and Obama get's the nomination due to that, that will be pleasing to me because in that case the better candidate is going to get the spoils. I'm still wondering if Edwards is the Dark Horse for the nomination in 08. skor, although I dont vote, I was a total Deaniac. he was my man--still love him and if he would have ran this time I would have been giving him my blessing over Obama even. As it is Obama gets my nod. Edwards is a puss. As for Republicans I heart Huckabee. I also dont mind Chuck Hagel--but I consider him a typical politician in that he will ay whatever the public wants to hear (that's the same problem I have with Hillary)...That said, if I was a betting man, I'd bet Guliani gets the Republican nod. And I still think the Dems is between Hillary and Obama.

I don't know about the GOP, McCain's an angry angry wingnut, Guiliani's a liberal trying very very hard to be accepted by rich white people and Mit Romney's Mormon. I'm glad I'm not a republican.

My old man is a mormon--I dont liek any religions (I'm agnostic) but I grew up going to a mormon church once every other weekend whenever the old man had me. They were fairly nice, but they think blacks are cursed by Cain or someshit...I like the multiple wives thing though... Anyway Rudy may be liberal on social issues but on Defence and foriegn affairs he's got Bush's dick in his mouth. As for McCain, I dont hate him, but I wouldnt want his as president either.

Ed,
1. It's Skvor if you're going to shorten it, not Skor, fuckface. If you're not going to show me the respect of getting my name right then stick me on ignore mode.
2. If you don't vote, shut the fuck up. Period. Shut up. You're opinions on anything are now mute and invalid on the subject of politics. Don't give me bullshit about how voting doesn't matter. Shut. Up. I hate people like you. Hate. Them.

I think Hillary gets a lot of press and polls well until the first primary, where she pulls a Howard Dean and gets creamed. Democratic voters are smarter than picking someone with zero shot at winning. And she has no shot. Are Democratic voters smarter than to pick someone with zero shot of winning? I mean, check out the candidate in '04 (yeah, he still should have beaten Bush, but he was a crummy candidate). I agree with you that Hillary is far from guaranteed the nomination, but I think you're giving Democratic primary voters too much credit. He did beat Bush. That said, you can hardly blame Democrats for backing Kerry in '04. He was by far the most "presidential" of the candidates in the primaries. He wasn't great. But the rest of the guys running against him weren't great either. Yes, not even Wesley Clark.

McCain is garbage. The only Republican worth having in office is Chuck Hagel. Everyone else in the GOP is really, really, really crappy.

I honestly think that there are no compelling Democrats anywhere, just as there are no compelling Republicans. It's the reason why Obama has taken off: because no one else seems remotely attractive as President of the United States.

He's a legitimate moderate (all things considered) and doesn't bow down to the radical right. And he's got more credibility on war issues than the rest of his party combined. He's the only Republican I see having a real shot at winning the general election right now. But there's no way he gets the nomination.

Hagel is a moderate?? Since when? He's a raging right-winger. Yes he is an outspoken full-on opponent of the Iraq war, so he's got balls and he's willing to stand up to the current administration and he can obviously think for himself. But usually when he thinks for himself, he winds up waaaaaaaaay to the right of sane human beings. I'm exaggerating for dramatic effect, but seriously, we can admire people for taking iconoclastic stands on particular issues without mistakenly presuming they are secret liberals or moderates - we made the same mistake with McCain. votesmart.org/npat.php?can_id=BC031069To me that record says hardcore right-winger. Mea culpa -- I should have said "By the warped standards of the modern far-right wing dominated Republican party, Hagel is a moderate voice." Or some such. Considering how nutty the Nebraska Republican party can be, I'm actually surprised that Hagel isn't all the way out on the fringe.
I'd never vote for him, but IMO he would've been far preferable than our current Commander in Chief.

The difference between Hagel and a lot of others is that he seems to actually want to serve the people. He is a rightwing republican because he believes it but he doesn't just tow the line because it's his party. That's why Hagel seems like a good choice. He doesn't feel the need to turn everything into right vs. left. I'd like to see more Chuck Hagel's even I don't agree with his politics.

Hagel is basically going with the popular wind--like most politician--the war is unpopular right now and hes jumpin on that bandwagon... Ed, 1. Hate. Them. Has Neal Peart taught you nothing: "Even if you choose not to choose, you still have made a choice." Ring any bells, Amigo? I dont vote for several reasons. One is to protest the Electoral system--I think we need a one person-one vote system. Also I'm not going to waste my time voting for one two-faced, corporate-sponsored anchorman over another two-faced, corporate-sponosred anchorman(or anchorperson). ANd I have some other reasons as well, but I doubt if you are open-minded enough to understand them.
