Knight has been posting on the Pearl Jam board for a long time, and he's a dear friend to many of us. Some of us have met him in person, and know that he's a genuinly nice person. knight is a jokester. and we had all been saying how happy we were that we didn't have to deal with the bombers/trolls/spammers. knight knew that heavymetalfanatic was a thorn in all of our sides, so just as a joke, he created the "heavymetalfanatic" sn. it was all for shits and giggles. i can completely understand why people would be upset over this. however, it was a joke. i don't believe that any harm was meant by it. nor was he trying to ruin the friendly atmosphere of this board.

I've known knight as a poster for quite a while, and in some cases the posters here that are willing to defend him for even longer. I've met several of them in person, and at the least trust their judgement on matters of message boards implicitely. Having said that, there is no doubt in my mind that this "hmf appearance" was nothing more than a harmless scare by one of the more whimsical and playful posters I've met on the RS site. Banning knight because of this one joke - and that's all it was, a joke which has unfortunately blown up right in his face - would be a crying shame.
Don't let the paranoia turn us against each other!

Knight is not a spammer. Promise. He's probably the least threatening guy youve ever met.
FREE KNIGHT! He's being oppressed!
BTW, saw people asking back there whether or not chem had been notified with the new boards. He has. I e-mailed him last weekend.

Oh my god.
Years ago, I said that RS.com should switch to, you know, a real web based message board system. Now, sure, we could go back to the olden page, but this is going to likely be way more stable and easy to monitor. Shit, why didn't this happen like, 2 years ago?

You've got us figured out. We're secretly trying to get Knight to post here, because we are all, in fact, spammers, and are trying to ruin the boards.
Knight posted those on two boards. Both with the words advice lounge in them, both places where the people who post there would know it was a joke.

Strat or K how the hell do I avoid rereading old posts? I hit mark as read & it’s still tedium plus!!  HELP! Oh BTW that Stampede Wrestling was the funniest cheeseyist thing. Every one knows its fake but I’ll tell you ringside one gets a whole new take on just how fake. The only thing I’d come close to respecting is the training it must take for all those near misses, kind of like stunt men I’d think. |

Hi, kid! It's been a long time! How is everything? Good, I hope. The only advice I can give about not reading old posts is just go to the last page and work your way back. I have the same problem. Maybe someone else has figured out a better system. If so, please[/i] share it! I know there are a lot of irritating things about this setup, but hey... RS is down... what's a person to do?  |

I have had some big problems with reading older posts too... I'm not sure if it has something to do with the way posts are archived on this site or not, but it is kinda frustrating, especially when a conversation has taken place that you have missed out on and you'd really like to look up the back log of it and get the context right for your response!
