strat, to answer your points:
1) there is clear evidence that this is a troll - there are plenty of posters willing to rebutt that. we know knight, he knows us. the only point of that gag was to make us advice givers sign on and go "whoa - its HMF!". this is the guy that hired jim morrison as my secretary for a week or so, he's a joker.
2) this kind of thing impeded enjoyment at RS - genuine pranks and mucking around most certainly didnt. every now and then someone would pull something, and we all laughed. knight is not a spammer. knight is most certainly not the real HMF, we can compare pictures if you'd like, but you may go blind.
3) do we want to allow it here or not? - we want to allow knight here, yes.

No no scot I meant I’m having the reverse problem. Ever time I go to a board it starts at post #1. I’ve been reading back posts more than I’d care to.

May I suggest the Last Ten Posts-link, to be found on the Main Page/homepage? You can see who posted what and where...it read likes the funniest thread.
And, for what it's worth, Knightschool is a decent guy, that is if the Knight is the Knight that I know and not a hillbilly imposing as Knight...god I"m even confuding myself!
Alan! Welcome mate! Played the new Anthrax this afternoon and thought of you!

That's a good suggestion, maarts. The search function can also be a big help if anyone is looking for a certain theme of posts by putting in some words into the search and telling it how to look for them.
Also, as Mary pointed out, the email notification is a handy thing, too.
Out of everything, though, I think your suggestion is about the best I can imagine. THANKS!

Rockkidd and Scottsy, when you click the main board you want and then see the topics, a page list is shown under each topic title. You can click the last page and work your way back. The "last 10 posts" link, as suggested by Maarts, is also a good method.

strato, knight tried to email you, but he said that his email was returned. so, he asked me to just post this on this board.
Strato, I can't believe you don't know me Strat. You never saw the Advice Lounge? 45,000 posts on page one in the Sound off section? I sold it to Riley Dog once. It was created to avoid the trolls on the PJ board. Then we moved to another secret location and continued another 18,000 posts in peace and harmony.
The fact is, the trolls havn't been a problem to me or my regulars for about a year and a half, so pretending to be one was the perfect joke. Before using your board I never realized or understood the HTML capabilities that existed on the R.S. boards in the old days. What seemed like magic to me i.e. the was really a simple thing for the spammers to use.
All those icon options are perfect for screwing around, but obviously not for actually bashing people the way the trolls did it. On the CE board my intent was to make people say, "oh god how did she get here" and that was it. I wasn't even planning on using the thing after that. Shin caught my joke because I didn't hide my email address on the bogus HMF for at least 3 hours.
Whatever man, if you don't want me back that's fine, but frankly this whole thing is kind of stupid, being banned. I posted for almost 3 years and had never been reported or banned, so your boards kind of smack of facism to me at this point.
later,
Knightschool, Knight, Evacs_Cat_Penney, Jim_Morrison, Robert_Plant, Ann_Landers, ESPN_Sportscenter, We_Are_Family, and HMF.
p.s. - Feel free to post this if you want, I don't care, but if you do let me say: thank-you to everybody who supported me during my period of anguish and confusion.

Knight is cool. He should not be banned. Real trolls/spammers should be.
I just found out the newest member of these boards is "The Governator". LOL.
"The people of Cal-ee-for-nee-a..."
Oh, and Mary, I listened to the first mix tape (the one that starts off on Side A with the Mekons) and it's great. Some songs I love (e.g. "The Killing Moon"), others are...okay, but I think they will grow on me. I'll listen to the second one tonight!

I can understand Knight's frustration. And I can understand the frustration of those who are friends with him as well. But I don't think it's fair to come down so hard on Strat-o, nor do I think it's fair to say the boards reak of facism, etc. After all, strat created this forum while the rest of us were saying "what the heck, what do I do now". He's putting the time into running it while the rest of us are just kicking back and having the fun we did before. I frankly miss his posts places like CE and wish he had more time for just kicking back like the rest of us. Dealing with trolls, or posters who look like trolls is a damned if you do damned if you don't proposition.

Well, since Knight's not here to respond to all I might have to say about that STUPID, uncalled-for comment, I'll just make the quick point that I found it to be lacking in a fundamental understanding of what FACISM entails.
Keep up the good work, strat-0 and don't let the bastards grind you down...

Then we moved to another secret location and continued another 18,000 posts in peace and harmony.---Knight Of course you never heard of it, ekul...it was a "secret board" (to use Knight's own word). God forbid anyone would get away with 18,000 posts on a "secret board" and never get caught... Now Playing: Arvo Pärt Kanon PokajanenFASCISM. Misspelled or not, there's nothing fascist about strat-0's handling of this whole mess. I mean, he even put up a poll so we could vote on what should be done...how democratic is that???

Not a "they", but a "he"... Arvo Pärt is a composer, mainly of choral music, but also of avante garde and minimalist symphonic works. The Kanon Pokajanen is a set of completely instrumental choral pieces...here's what AMG has to say... Arvo Pärt Arvo Part's Kanon Pokajanen is a work of starkly radiant beauty, a deeply felt plea for forgiveness so resonant it seems to bear its own expiatory power. The piece is a choral setting of the Russian Orthodox Church's canon of repentance, believed to have been composed by St. Andrew of Crete sometime in the late seventh century. Part had experimented with the canon in earlier works, but when the Cologne Cathedral commissioned him to compose a choral piece for its 750th anniversary, he took the opportunity to immerse himself in it completely. Over two years of intense quality time with the work, Part produced an 80-minute choral setting of the entire canon which mines each word of the original Church Slavonic (a language used exclusively in ecclesiastical texts) for its maximum musicality and meaning. Part believes language to be more important to a choral work than the music. In the liner notes, he explains that he wants each word "to find its own sound, to draw its own melodic line." The result is a piece that moves slowly and deliberately through the canon, making ample use of the silences between the words. The juxtaposition of the deep bass men's voices with the high soprano women's voices, sung in the dissonant harmonic style of medieval chant, parallels the canon's night and day symbolism. Part's version, performed in an immaculate recording by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, captures the sunrise feeling of a song that is still sung at the break of day in European monestaries. Marina Bobrik-Fromke's liner notes describes it beautifully: "The canon is heard in the nave, barely illuminated by the flickering candles, while the door to the sanctuary still remains closed. As soon as the canon has come to an end, this entrance ...opens. The church is filled with light, signifying the presence of Christ." Asked by an interviewer how best to listen to the piece, Part laughed. "First of all," he said, "Turn off the television." If you're looking for background music, Kanon Pokajanen is not your best choice. This is music to soak in, music to meditate to. Music of searing intensity that finds that part of the soul, so often neglected in today's fast-paced lifestyle, that is starved for reverence, fear, and awe, longing to say "Come out to seek me; lead me up to Thy pasturage and number me among the sheep of Thy chosen flock. Nourish me with them on the grass of Thy Holy Mysteries." — Evan Cater
