I think this is pretty simple. Basically, share stuff about yourself no one knew. It makes it easier for others to round you out as a whole person and not just a bunch of words on a computer screen.
01. I was a pretty angry person throughout my teens. Alkie dad, enabler mom, that same shit everyday. I am still an active member of Al-anon, the support group for relatives of alcoholics. I don't buy a lot of what it's about, but the sense that some people went through what you went through is pretty nice.
02. I used to get a lot of flack for not being "black" enough from black people. I live in the South, but I speak fundamentally sound English and listen to rock music almost exclusively, so a lot of people have written me off from the get go. Which used to suck, but I am ok with it now.
03. I was a junior olympics qualified swimmer at the age of 13, which was great. Swimming is my favorite thing to do in the world.
04. I don't make friends easy. I am gregarious as hell and a ton of fun to be around, until you realize you don't know a fucking thing about me and I know everything about you. I don't share easily, I make a terrible roomate.
05. I am a huge Nintendo nerd. I love video games. Xbox, Playstation, Gamecube, and all the newer stuff, have it all, and I play 50+ hour role playing games with them. Super nerd. And I read comics. Not political. I am talking Batman.

I'm a big fan of swimming too, but never really do it anymore.....shooting some hoops, and swimming are probably my favorite work out type things to do.

I would participate in this, but I think I've been posting here/at RS long enough that everyone knows all there is to know about me.

I guess I'll participate since a couple of pepes seem to think I'm such a mystery. (I was surprised by this... 1. Although an airforce brat (my dad was in the airforce intelligence, and can be seen for about 30 seconds analyzing a picture of a plane engine on the documentary WINGS), I grew up mostly in the tiny dinosaur-digging mormon town of Vernal, Utah. Needless to say, I knew what paleontology was by second grade. Thanks to my dad, I seem to have a very right-brained mechanical mind: I scored in the 99th percentile in mechanics on the ASVAB. I would never use this power for evil by joining the military, though. 2. I played outside ALL the time when I was a kid. I built tree forts constantly and swam in canals all the time. My grandpa had horses that he'd let roam wild in the field behind our house, and sometimes we'd catch 'em and ride them bareback into town. I was a tom boy, although there WERE a few neighbor boys who occassionaly reminded me that I was female when they tried to kiss me and put their fingers in my cooter to see what was going on down there. 3. When I was 2, we lived in Virginia. I remember feeling both curious and deathly afraid of all the huge mollusks slurking about on the beach. One thing led to another, and my heart would start to beat very loudly. This frightened me even more, because I always confused the sound of my heartbeat (at that age) with the footsteps of one giant and terribly terrifying smokey-the-bear I had seen in a museum. He gave me nightmares. 4. When I was 6, I thought I could fly. My brother and I had found a ladder, and somehow we crawled on top of our roof. We lived in a huge solar house that my dad was building himself, so this was no small tract home. I took my bigwheel up with me, got on it, pedaled like mad, and with the assistance of gravity, I went sailing off the roof. I broke nothing. I wonder if my mom even knows I did this. 5. 3 and a half years after my dad got killed my mom remarried. I hated the seeming "replacement." I wrote secret messages about how much I hated him with white soap on the walls of their white shower. I was a very angry twelve year old. Wow. It seems I've only revelead the secret text of my childhood. Make of it what you will.

Sorry to hear about your father sisyphus. Have you made any progress w/ your step dad?
You're only 15? Geez, you seem way more mature than me, and I'm double your age!

1) I was extremely antisocial for a long time. I've been more open in recent months, but I can go forever without making new friends. It's not out of a dislike for humanity... I just go through long periods of being bored with life.
2) I've never had the desire to do any sort of hard drugs, though I do drink myself silly every now and then (though I don't bother buying the stuff on my own... more of something to do with friends when apathy rears its ugly head). An observation: Canadian beer is better.
3) I barely ever leave this state. I've been to a total of five states in my life (up until recently, it was three), and I've never been out of the country. I was considering going out of state for college, and I probably should've.
4) I vividly remember hearing (on the radio) the breaking news of Kurt Cobain's death, and I listened to a hell of a lot of then-modern rock radio at the time. Not that I knew what I was listening to, but I felt deeply touched by what I heard and I'm still strongly bonded to much of it to this day.
5) I enjoy writing, but I do it in spurts. I'll go five or six months without doing anything notable, and then jot down a bunch of (often incoherent) stuff.

Paul, I live in Richmond, VA. Richmond is a weird kind of place, in that the city is completely spread out, but there's only one neighborhood worth living in, and that's central Richmond. The surrounding suburbs are all a different shade of crap.

I would participate in this, but I think I've been posting here/at RS long enough that everyone knows all there is to know about me. I'll do Rocky's for him. 1. I'm Rocky. I'm a raging homosexual. So much so that anyone who voted for Rileydog as gayest poster, should change their vote to me. Rocky, I hope that little bit of honesty helps you be more okay with Rocky. You're welcome.

Alright, Riley, you've forced it out of me.
1. My parents divorced when I was 13. I've had depression problems off and on since then. It was at its worst when I was in high school, and was fleeting in college. I've been pretty happy since I've moved to Chicago.
2. I barely sleep. I've had sleeping issues since around 8th grade or so. I take Melatonin, and it helps, but not that much.
3. I love living alone. I value my time alone, and in the six months or so that I've been living by myself, I've never been happier. I've been talking to a friend about getting a place together after my lease expires, for the purposes of saving money, but I'm secretly dreading living with him.
4. Of my five favorite bands, I got into three of them (the Clash, X and Guided by Voices) through recommendations from posters here.
5. Riley and I have been homosexual lovers for 4 years. It started with innocent flirtation on the old RS boards, but gradually we both came to realize that we shared something very real. We first rendevouzed in Toronto, as we figured it would be a good central meeting point for us. Since then we've met periodically when Riley's wife is out of town, or just whenever we've both had a chance to get away. The first time Riley stared into my eyes and told me he loved me, that was the first time I ever really felt alive.

Oh, OK...I was thinking the way you write seems much more together than most 15 year olds....So you're real close to my age...
