JLLM cracks everbody up. It's gettin a tad old, if you ask me, this relentless & incisive humor-thing of his. There is a small contingency of Castaways currently passing a petition around to get JLLM to bring it down a notch to mediocre postings of a strictly informative nature. Would you like to sign it ?

j/k dearie, if I can't get you the bumper sticker, I'll make sure to save one of those bottle-opener keychains we're mass producing for this cause.

That thought didn't even cross my mind. I'm not sure if I should hold my head in shame for that, or just write it of as "It's JLLM - duh!" I'm not sure exactly when I became the man you'd naturally expect to be looking in a dog's anus. There's far more to me than inspecting the colonic region of domesticated animals. I'm well versed in Shakespeare, for example. Is this a hamster's sphincter I see before me? Layers. Like an onion. Exactly! Everyone knows that expertise in animal's colons is one of the key qualifications of any true renaissance man. Without that, you're nothing but Riley a metro-sexual.

Great post, Jac. I'm all for vandalizing wikipedia, if it's strat using it to attract new members or kenny having a laugh, that place has zero credibility and deserves to be tampered with. No offense, Kool, but that's one of the stupider things I've read lately. BTW, I didn't add that section in the Wiki article to try to "attract new members." However, if some former RS mag readers and forum members happened to find this site that way, that's OK too. What amazes me is how little many of the loudest folks about it here understand what Wikipedia is. And they sell themselves and the rest of us short in the process. Now, I don't claim to be the sharpest tool in the shed, but besides my degree in education with majors in English and history, I'm actually an editor and writer in real life, too. Yep, they even pay me for it. And encyclopedias are not really a new concept to me. Anyhow, I realize that my last post was more than a couple of paragraphs, and so it was way too much for a few of the short attention span folks here, so I'm going to paste a few of the salient points again. Please try to read it and comprehend it before responding. Some small-minded people seem to want to base everything on numbers. That is not the only measure of significance in all things. There is another story that needs to be told about RS, and RS sure as hell isn't going to do it. Moreover, I think I'm about done here. This place used to be such fun, even to argue on; it's not fun at all for me anymore. Way too much negativity. I'll check in and clean things up if needed. Y'all have fun.

Abbreviated post for the attention deficit folks:
In a general article about Rolling Stone Magazine, one might reasonably expect to find a section about the RS website. That is the section I added. The past and present contents of the site are briefly covered, including their various attempts at hosting a message board.
The entry tells a story that needs to be told, and does have some significance relative to RS. The story is about the website and what happened to the RS message boards. See, it’s not about strat-0 or shin, or sedaka, or any other peripheral crap. It’s about what happened. That’s why the mention of Castaways was valid. The link provided some documentation and sourcing. And if you think there were only 400 people at the RS boards, I don’t think you were really there much.
I added that website section to the RS article on a lark, mainly to give a nod to the folks here (and at shin's boards) who have been on this 'long strange trip,' and to document the history. I did try to be professional and adhere to conventions in good faith. Only a schmuck and a troll would try to fuck that up.
Shin, once again, the fact that you put “vandalism” in quotes in that post is very telling. Sticking bullshit about “Galactus” into a Wikidepia article that’s not about graphic novels is called “vandalism.” No quotes needed. But it’s increasingly clear that you are a troll at heart, along with your couple of toads, so it’s really no matter.
One of the sites is an open and public direct spin-off; the other is hidden and private. …Ironically, you hide and then want to be noticed. Geez.
The original post is #141 on page 10.
Enjoy your boards.

Nobody's hiding, strat. Bully for you that want to let anyone read this and maybe be a member but you should respect that other sites might want more privacy. Also for the fact that sedaka members rarely actually bring up sedaka here, as much as it comes up that's pretty hard to believe. There just seem to be a few people here who just can't seem to get past it regardless of how much they claim not to care. You don't like shin? Ban him. Quite whining and ban him. Ban me if you want too.
