It's weird though, when comparing Phil's posts to yours rocdoc, it's Phil that comes off as having a firm grasp on the English language, and not you rocdoc. At the very least his posts contain minor grammatical errors while yours completely refuse to adhere to common sentence structure and coherent thought. I think Doc types out his posts a lot like I do and purposefully hangs out some slang and slighted structure as it sometimes comes natural in casual conversation. I've also have had the pleasure of a few phone conversations with the good Doc and trust me, he's got that CHIcago dialect ALL down as the best Region Rat could hope to!

Wow, thanks ded! My ego is constantly in need of a boost, so it's always nice when people compliment me on my English. Now if only more people would start telling me I'm sexy...

I think Doc types out his posts a lot like I do and purposefully hangs out some slang and slighted structure as it sometimes comes natural in casual conversation. I think that's the case with all native English speakers. That's why Ryo's written English is so good. He actually thinks about what he wants to say and doesn't just write what he speaks, because his native language is Japanese. The same applies with me when I'm writing Greek, or speaking it for that matter. I filter what I'm going to say first, think if it sounds right and then write/say what I want. I rarely make spelling or grammatical errors in Greek for this very reason. That, and the fact that when you're learning a second language, you actually have to go by the grammar/spelling rules you learned in class, unlike speaking in your native tongue, where you just say what 'sounds' right.

I never claimed to be nice. rocdoc is a douche and pretending that any part of his post was good natured is giving him way too much credit.

For my own sake I'll have to stress that I DO drop in a lot of 'bad' English just to add (in my eyes) character, a lot of the time depending on my mood and sense of what I may be talking about. Hey, it worked for Sammy Clemens.......

I never thought Ryo's posts had that stiff academic english though, he has a very natural flow and sentence structure. Every other poster here who doesn't speak english as their first laguage has these little tells that while not incorrect grammatically or in spelling but still have that EASL stamp. Ryo never has those, I swear I didn't believe he was Japanese for a long time, I thought he was an American in Japan for some reason or other.

Hey, it worked for Sammy Clemens....... Yeah, I think we all drop in those little colloquialisms and slang, I do. I've never worried myself too much about spelling or proper grammar rather trying to get a feel of my natural speech patterns or to try to get across humor or the like.

Quite. It's weird though, [comma splice] when comparing Phil's posts to yours [missing comma] rocdoc, it's Phil that comes off as having a firm grasp on the English language, and not you [missing comma] rocdoc [redundant]. At the very least [missing comma] his posts contain minor grammatical errors [missing comma] while yours completely refuse to adhere to common sentence structure and coherent thought.

Fuck, you MUST inproper capitalizationbe kidding. You're not the least bit uncomfortable with the embarassing generalities and untruths in that piece? Blowhard overpoliticized overgeneralizing with retroactive 20:20 vision where even Um, what the fuck does this even mean?then redundant overuse of html features they still don't even wish to get it's incorrect use of its. For shame pieces right.... The people of Iraq, the common people, were then the targets? With the intent to 'shock and awe them? Yeh. This isn't even a word.Excellent parallel!! Hee-hee. Whoa. Thoroughly moronic attempted spin, that's what that is. And THAT was 'The most literal shock of recognition' to this writer, like she said?? No. Just plz this hurts my eyes. You manage to type out long nonsensical ranting, but still can't be fucked to write the word please all the way out? fuck off with this backslapping 'we were SO right' - there's no need for a dash hereshit... Yes the 'war''s this is all wrong. All so wrong. a fucking disaster. Yes. Given. Absolutely. The real question (and a far more challenging one) still should have been 'how long would the public have assented to those programs' if the catastrophe had been furthered to include another couple three four quick WTC/Madrid/London subway-type of attacks...our liberal folk would say 'Never!', correct? I'm bored now. I lost the point of this three paragraphs ago.Oh and for the fact that it seems that no sort of panic peddling 'hysterics' could possibly penetrate their limbic systems because they've divined the knowledge that 'No, they're NOT coming after us again. No amount of percieved threat is worth that!' Unmoveable and unflappable. Constipated in fact. Fragment. And you here all you here all? What?nod sagely 'Uh-hmmmmm. Bravo.' Bullshit. Pretty pointless, huh?

I take it there's a history between someone and RocDoc? Though yeah, I kind of suspected it when she came out of nowhere to post that bit.
For fuck's sake though, I wish she'd take it elsewhere.
