Holy fucking shit. I completely forgot about that guy. But now that you mention him, I remember him pretty clearly. I think he was gone for good maybe a year after I started posting there. |

Hello. Wow...it feels rather strange to be back at least for a short while at any rate. So, hello to Maarten (thanks for your email) and Layla and everyone else I haven't seen for a very long time. I hope you all are doing well. As for me, I'm still in SC still working on the PhD (although I am currently procrastinating starting a paper). Fairly happy all things considered..... UEB! Its great to see you back! How have you been?  I figured you'd still be chipping away at the PhD, good for you sticking with it. You better post again, dammit. |

I dont have an avatar and I dont post album covers cos I dont have time or reason to do that--say my piece and get out is my motto--even though i ramble on for no reason all the fooking time....
straight up. PeeWee was f*&king cool. I guess all of you are pretty cool cos my posts are pretty idiotic for the most part and put up with me--but he got me into some fantastic music. Very opinionated too. But cool.
Strawman was awesome too. New Zealand has the best music known to humankind. He is true punk and roll. I do consider him a friend though I have never met him in person. If I can ever hit NZ its on with the four track, guitars and beer. He knows that music should come from the heart and not some machine and I think he is a straight up good person. He is doing well. He still hates Led Zeppelin though.
JAC needs to come back. I know he wants to. But if he doesnt I can understand why.

OasisFan was cool, so was his brother. As were PeeWee, Dobs (at least most of the time), Rad (remember him, Rocky?), Ghost of Bob Stinson, Yakamo (who I think I saw was writing for a music web site as of about a year or so ago), Proud, Wellhung, SheRocks, Ferdman, Sgt. Rutter (talk about an encylopedic knowledge of rock history! damn), Piper ... and the list goes on and on. Crap that brings back some memories. Hmmm...and I for one don't even want to think about what I'd be listening to if I'd never signed onto RS. I wish I could remember half of the people I conversed with regularly. Remember setting up base at the Nirvana board and branching out from there. At some point there was a huge GNR vs Metallica battle that was just hilarious. And JLLM showed up on the Marilyn Manson board, and we discussed everything but Manson. And the U2 vs Metallica battle on the U2 board (of all damned places) was hysterical. I don't remember who else took part in most of these. I'm pretty sure you were in on the U2/Metallica fight, Ken. Good times, good times. Damn, all this reminiscing makes me just wanna tear up. I mean, what? I ain't no sissy queer like that. Football. |
