I won't go into a long wined Radiohead rant, but really, THREE Radiohead albums in the top 40? That's ridiculous. That's fanboy list making. That's ball-less.
The inclusion of Medulla, an album they actually come out and say they don't really like or understand, is included. Why? And why is Vespertine, Bjork's best album not included?
And where the hell is Sea Change? Or Fevers and Mirrors?
And why the hell is the Yeah yeah Yeahs on this list?
I'm not sure I fully understand how Funeral ended up so low after they named it the best album of 2004, while several other 2004 albums came in higher. Figure that one out.
Exactly. They rated Trail of Dead's album 10.0. As they did Kid A. They are nowhere near each other on this bullshit list. I don't see how anyone can defend this list. It's garbage.

God forbid they change their views on an album over time. Fangirl.

Changing an opinion over time is fine, but the best of 2004 list came out just a couple weeks ago. It's weird that so many jumped Funeral in just a few weeks.

Like I said before, pitchfork is too busy copying ilm/stylus to come up with original ideas nowadays.

That might be the most obvious "huh?" of the whole thing. Doesn't Vespertine get a 9 something rating there as well (like it did, well, everywhere).

I thought the name Babyshambles was well chosen for the band...acting like the first half of their moniker and subsequently describing your career with the latter part....
yes, it is a rather appropriate name, as well as being one of those ones that just rolls off the tongue. it's also been a real gift to lazy journalists. every headline about them has been along the lines of "baby, what a shambles!".
they do have some good songs, though. "babyshambles" and "fuck forever" are outstanding, although "killamangiro" is the most famous and had the most chart success, a song that appeared on some earlier libs sessions as "kill a man for his giro". it's worth digging up i guess. if you use soulseek i have masses of libs and babyshambles stuff you can raid if you like.
