The U.S. Olympic basketball team lost to EuroCup2003 bronze medalists Italy, 78-95 in Cologne, Germany on Tuesday...yeah, these are still the 'friendlies', but after seeing a LARGE part of that EuroCup tourney when I was in Lithuania past September, I predict a rough ride for the U.S.'s primadonnas...

GO LITHUANIA!!!

Early days yet but I so hope the Twins beat the Yankees' ass this series... Johan Santana could singlehandedly put the batting line-up to the sword. Didn't exactly do that but this shut-out with four double-plays was certainly entertaining.
Where's Mary? Surely she'd be secretly hoping....

Hey Maarts, I thought that was a great game last night. I'm one of the few fans that actually likes the Yankees! Good game tho' with the Yanks coming from behind to win it in 12.
I'd like to see the Yanks get thru this series, and the Red Sox beat the Angels, thereby setting up another classic Yankees/Red Sox matchup for the American League pennant!

Any Reds fans? I've decided they will be the team i route/root on, they have a cool uniform and Pete Rose seemed pretty cool.
Any thoughts on the history of the Reds?

Anybody would be on top of the world to beat the Yankees these days- it's like the ManU of Real Madrid of baseball.
And as much as a BoSox-Yankees-match would make me rip my seat out off the ground and throw it straight into the bullpen, I'd love to see the Twins reach high this year....
(for the unfamiliar: ManU stands for Manchester United and together with their Spanish 'colleague' Real Madrid they are two very popular soccer clubs who have a lot of money and buy all the good players from all the other teams in the hope that they can dominate the world soccer scene and make all other clubs envious)

DUDE! This son-of-immigrant-DPs has been a Yankees fan since I was little! When I didn't even know how to speak English. Ahem...a fan on a matter of principle alone...they're the damn Yankees! And from the greatest MOST representative city of 'America', for good, for bad or for worse... ;D I just love the city of New York and I love seeing them represented by the Yankees... All NY Yankee-hating is strictly ENVY. ~ It's like me hating the damn Red Wings...
