I may be going there too....Now that BC is in the ACC, I may go up there to see my team (Clemson) play them in football on Saturday, Sept. 9th. The day before the BoSox are playing, I may be able to hit up both games.

I'm hoping this summer I can get out to Wrigley Field (never been; it's on the 'to do' list) and see the Nationals play the Cubbies. I actually bought a stack of Cubs tickets for this year a few weeks ago, and one of the games I got tickets for is against the Nats. If you end up at that game, hit me up for a beer or something, dood. will do. If the stars are aligned properly, maybe Pearl Jam will play Chicago around the same time the Nationals play the Cubs, and I can really hit up Chicago and explore the city.

Wow, huge win for Canada - and no gloating??? Now we've got to hope you guys score at least 2 runs vs. Mexico (and Loaiza is a pretty decent pitcher) so the U.S. has a chance to advance... Wrigley Field - I went to see my first Cubs game last year, but my group had rented one of those rooftops beyond left field, so I still haven't actually been IN Wrigley. Pretty cool view from where we were, but I need to make it back and check out a game from a proper bleacher seat.

Well, it was definitely better than that. One definite attraction was the all-you-can-eat-and-drink feature of the rooftop, although they had to stop serving us after the 7th inning due to some agreement with the Cubs (and the game went into extras).

Well now I see your point Rocky...I'm nowher near the fan you are....but I've lived in a city with 2 major league teams all my life and never subscribed the the goofy (IMO) North-side versus Southside baseball exclusivity of having to HATE one or the other team...so I was always going to both parks. All 3 counting the old Comiskey where I saw baseball, major league soccer and rock and roll....
I never had time to say that something, which belonged to me by birthright, would 'suck'. Always had a great fucking time in both parks. Got thrown outta both of em too...
...the all-you-can-eat-and-drink feature...
DANGERDANGER Mr Smith!

With all due respect to Chicago, you guys have nothing on the Cathedral that is Fenway Park. Part of the charm is that odd dimensions of the park give it a post modern/gothic sort of feel, not to mention the dozens of unique features scattered around the grounds (such as the morse code on the Monster scoreboard), combined with the history of a century of ghosts and emotions packed into every seat with an obstructed view. Behold this poster:

Everytime someone from out of state visits and asks me where to go, I always tell them "Fenway Park and Faneuil Hall. In that order. Even if it's winter, just go to Landsdowne street and bask in the aura."

Digmo, after the showing of our men’s hockey team at the Olympics, gloating about international sports is outlawed in Canada for the next four years. Too bad about that game with Mexico, eh?

I miss Tiger Stadium...

When I heard Tiger Stadium was being replaced, I swore I'd make it to Detroit to catch a game there before it closed. Along with Fenway and Wrigley, that was one of the last historical treasures in baseball. I had two years and didn't get around to it. Wanted to sit out in the outfield, either in or under the overhanging upper deck. What a cool feature that was - guess it wasn't a possibility to spruce the stadium up, huh? Shame, but at least the new park seems pretty cool.
And yes, drum, that was also a shame about you guys losing to Mexico, but since you really took one on the chin, it seems like we'll advance by beating South Africa. I think the Canadian manager should've saved Bedard to start against Mexico, but oh well...

So who here's been to Yankee Stadium?
....easily AS historic as any of these you've mentioned.
I drove past it a couple of times...swearing that I'd get to a game there, eventually.

I was at Game 1 of the 2000 Subway Series when my dad managed to score tickets.
It's a pretty ugly and boring stadium, actually...
