This is the 7th and last season for The Shield doc....what a fuckin' show too. For cop dramas, I'd have to rate it just under NYPD Blue with the chestnut Hill Street Blues coming in at #3.
Hope you have been able to see some of it in the past --- the emotional involvement with the characters is high key in how this is all going to play out......

i've gotten through prob the first 3 maybe 4 seasons for sure, thank to the libraries here..sim to my situation of catching sopranos after-the-fact.
NOTHING beats sitting down with some chips and a coupla beers with either one of those shows and watching like 2-3 episodes at a time.
that jittery hand held verite (of shield) gets me but good.....

Man, she can't even put in an energized lip synch anymore.
And that second "song" they played while she danced sucked!
Ashlee Simpson is a better performer at this stage.
Sad.

I totally got into JJ Abrams' "Fringe". Any one else dig it? I like the premise, I think it's going to be a pretty good show.

As expected, Tina Fey just nailed[/u] her impersonation of Sarah Palin on SNL's opening bit last night. A few good lines ("I can see Russia from my house") and being perplexed over what the Bush doctrine is.

Love Fringe. I DVRed the second episode since I'm battling illness and (embarassingly) fell asleep at like 8 last night. The first episode was fantastic though. I love the crazy doctor. Definitely my favorite character. The part with him and the chick watching television on the couch with the cow right behind them (also looking at the tv) was one of the funniest moments on TV in a while (IMO). JJ Abrams is the shit. Ditto on the scene on the couch --- haven't watched the second ep yet either,,,,premiere was enough to entice me though I think it'll be better still 3 or 4 episodes in when things can gell a bit. Some of the situations seemed to just fly by a little too quickly in the first 90 minutes. Like the locked up dad is whacked out one minute but super functional a couple scenes in.... Oh, and I also dug the immersion tank bit -- any one ever see the badass oldie Altered States Early 80's flick with Wm. Hurt....now I'm wanting to check that out again......

mmmm... immersion tank. I need me one of those. In Altered States, Hurt's character uses one while tripping out on LSD or something in effort to try and unlock 'the primal beast' he thinks still lays in every man. He goes so mental from it that he actually regresses back to a primordial man -- the effects are great when he's running around in that mode. Speaking of old flicks, I DVRd this one off the tube for watching this weekend: Yul Brenner as the original Terminator!! From 1973 when Ahrnold was still 'pumping iron' --- in the not too distant future, people take vacations at this theme park where they can stay in & re-enact enviroments typical to certain time periods: Medieval World, Future World, West World. These sections of the park have robots programmed to act the parts of the population you'd expect to run into. Every thing is funFunFun until a wire is crossed, a chip malfunctions...and then the REAL fun begins. this is going to be great cheezzzy entertainment to watch again! (note: written/directed by Michael Crichton,,,,Jurasic Park, Andromina Strain, "ER", etc.)
