Interior déco. Now say hello to "CHICO" our Xmas tree for this year ... Second Son was very upset when he saw the poor thing we bought this year ... (Chicot means stump in french ... It's all Better-half fault, I swear ... ! She insisted we go late in the day to pick our tree but she was tired and not dressed properly so she picked the first one she saw that looked right ! Told her it was too skinny and too tall and that we should take our time to look around but she said it would be fine ... Well, it does look fine ... They always end up looking fine ...

22 years ago, Better-Half and I had our first "date" on the 22nd or 23rd of december ... For the occasion, I bought her a small fluffy Xmas animal ... And the year after that and the year after that ... Those you see here on the shelf are part of the collection she now has!

This is Eldest Son ready to go to school ... He's in a Ski/Studies program. He's almost 17, in his last year of high school ... He plays rugby, has a very cute/very funny girlfriend, he's bright and has not a worry in the world ... Meet his friend Sébastien ... Seb. is a year older than Christophe but he's been a friend of the boys since they met in primary school. Seb's father left his wife when he was a toddler and his mother had been sick almost for as long as we've know Seb. She died of breast cancer 3 years ago. Seb joined the army a year ago and he's now in training at the Valcartier base ... If all goes according to plan, Sebastien will go to Afghanistan in early 2009 if not before ... I love Sebastien as much as I hate wars ...

it was awesome! its really pretty down there, and i took a lot of pictures. i am getting the film back on saturday, so i am super pumped. woooooo. i will post as soon as i get em. a few things of note: 1. approx 50-60% of all public bathrooms i went to did NOT have toliet paper. approx 2 i visited had soap. 3 were in such disarray there was water all over the floor. 2. no one can drive. red lights are optional--you look both ways and go. no speed limits. also, motorcyclists will honk at you to move over so they can drive through the middle of lanes and weave all over. also, lanes are kinda non-existent. as in people drive in the middle of the lane often. 3. its sooo green. and green. 4. half of the girls had fake boobs. cartoonish fake boobs. i never felt gawked at or uncomfy at all. yessss i saw that he was. he's handsome there phil

They must all have transported to La Peripherique because the times our family drove around Paris they all congregated there...they all thought they were Alain Prost.
Forgot to commend your pics, Phil- what an idyllique picture your house made in the festiove season. We have quite a bit of blessed rains these months- a relief from several years of severe drought, inane heat and bushfire dangers.
Hope your boys don't have to travel to Afghanistan, mate. And that Seb doesn't have to go. Nothing hits harder about the factualities of war once someone you knows fights there.
