OK, how the hell did I get a bunch of random smiley's in my last post? Does hitting multiple question marks equal one of those things? ? (guess I'll find out!)

you know what i really hate? when it's like the middle of the night - like 2:30 a.m., like now - and you hear some totally insane guy screaming at some other guy somewehre outside your window. stuff like 'listen motherfucker, if you don't shut the fuck up i'm gonna smash your face in!' and so you run to the window and look outside cause you wanna see what's goin' down, and your realize that the crazy dude is just beyond your line of vision through the window - like if the window just went over another 2 inches you'd be able to see him - but as it is, if he does decide to start wailing on this other dude, you won't be able to see it. that really fucking pisses me off cause if some crazy shit goes down, i wanna be able to stand at my bloody window and watch, ya know? So annoying. That reminds me, during this one week in April (this year), when it was really warm out, college kids were screaming outside my dorm at all hours of the night. They weren't beating each other up, but they were still really irritating. Especially on April 20 when people were screaming "420!!!!" at 4 in the morning...shut up. And bow, I thought Huntington Beach was nice?? Even though I live on the other side of the country, I've definitely heard of that town, and I think it's been described as a "surfer's paradise" or something to that extent. ~PunkChick

what's the name of that fashion designer, the sister of the guy who was killed(Versace?) Donatella? there's a good name for ya! speaking of, there's a rider in the tour of italy named Crescendo D'amore. now i know it probably doesn't translate to this, but it sounds to me like in english it would mean, "the peak of love"? know what i mean? ;D

meursalt, what was your id on the old boards? i feel like when a stranger calls out your name, i'm all confuzzled.
about all i'm listening to is the live shows i'm burning to cd. i've got a 60 gig partition about filled withn shows, and am working on filling another 60 gig partition, and i'm falling behind with the burning. once i burn them, i'll give them a listen to make sure they sound ok, don't have any major breaks or cutoffs, and then delete them from my hard drive. if they have problemns that i can fix in cool edit pro, i'll fix them and clean them up as best i can, and then reburn them. lately, i've been checking the wavs first before burning them, just so i can check out any problems ahead of time.
unfortunately, many of the shows don't have any artwork with them, so if i can't find something on the internet, i've got to put my minimal design abilities to work to create something. both of these tasks are pretty time-consuming, so i end up falling behind, there are just too many good shows being posted.
so far, i've got about ten New Order shows burned, and there's about five more on my hard drive, and it seems like one or two new ones being posted every day. luckily this guy makes great cover art for them, so i just download his artwork. i've also got about five Joy Division shows, with another five on my hard drive, four or five Springsteen, some Pixies, about 10 or 12 Wilco shows(just got the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot demos and outtakes), some Uncle Tupelo, solo Jeff Tweedy, some Little Feat with Lowell George, Peter Gabriel, Connells, Replacements, U2, etc. just a treasure trove of excellent live recordings. my cd collection has grown by about 20%, and will probably grow by over 50% by the time i get all these shows burned.

Isn't Donatella Versace's daughter? Or is that really his sister? I don't care or anything, it's just late and no one's really posting...

Donatella is definitely the sister...
I'm a little obssessed with that too-tan biotch.
I really only came to this board to post this random revelation to Mary: I just realized that the song "Joey" By Concrete Blonde was like, my favorite song when i was about, I dunno, 8, 9, ? I just remember visiting my family in Lexington and singing it at the top of my LUNGS with my cousin...and then, poof, I'd forgotten it for all this time, forgotten that it was even Concrete Blonde. Until tonight!

That's one of the few Concrete Blonde songs I don't like. Reminds me of light rock, less talk radio and my mother playing it entirely too much.

Jury's out for me: I just heard it for the first time since childhood or adolescence or something tonight...how bizarre.
I want a cool picture!

Whew, I've been digging up way too many "cool pictures" of late. Hopefully I'll wear this feature out before the real boards get back up...

i have to leave in 3 and a half hours, how very sad. And yet I'm still not finished with this stupid, stupid shit I'm supposed to e-mail to my boss's boss in the morning...It's like I don't even know how to spell anymore and can't think of words beyond three letters long.
I need the weekend.
And I'll just go ahead and say that I got my REJECTION letter for my grant application today. It would have been a lot easier to take had it not been so flowery and girly since it was from a feminist organization. They reviewed my app. very highly is the thing, said my idea was creative, organized, I had been well-recommended blah, blah, yackety, schmackety...then some blip about how my TIMELINE was unrealistic: well it's hard not to get defensive about that. I've been in enough shows, plays, and musicals to know that 2 months is enough friggin' rehearsal for just about anything (and sometimes too much)!
Ah well, I wasn't really that crushed, I've expected this. It was my first crack at a grant app. of this scale. And now on to the next, it's due in 3 months.
