Shane, I had most of Holy Diver over on Napster, back in "the good old days." Seriously, I was thinking back on it, and Napster at its height was the absolute greatest thing that ever happened musically. And I mean that. It was so fucking amazing.
I had over two hours of Japanese stuff that I could never find today. I had dozens if not hundreds of b-sides and rarities from ALL of my favorite bands. If some crappy band came out with the stray song that I liked, I had it on Napster. I had interviews that I'll never get again. I had local music from all around the world. When Skvor mentioned the next big thing in obscurities, all I had to do was type in a name on Napster and bam, I was in the know. If I'd heard some song in 1995, and I vaguely remembered the name, and it was impossible to find anywhere, it was but a click away on Napster. I had stand-up pieces. Jesus Christ, I miss that thing. I don't think anyone quite realized just how great it was.

Hopefully my attention span can hold tight for a few days while I revisit some old favorites and explore some territory I haven't had the chance to give proper listens to.

Hopefully I won't end anymore posts with "to" anytime again soon. Terrible.
My sexy grade 9 English teacher just clutched here chest in shock. Of course that could have been her remembering our daily romps where I proved I knew my way around a dusty book room, and the proper placement of my... erm...bookmark.

RocDoc - it's not that I DON'T like Celtic music... it's just that I went through a period where I listened to it almost constantly, and I just don't do that anymore. So I still love to hear it... I just find myself more often drawn to other music these days. But yeah, that MacMaster gig was an absolute hoot. And I DO still looooove the bagpipes!

Part of me thinks I found this a little too amusing now that I am actually teaching English. And I so call my students out when the end their sentences with prepositions. Dear lord.

Oh, and going with the spirit of this particular thread, I listened to The Who's Who's Next on the way to campus this morning.

And I so call my students out when the end their sentences with prepositions. Dear lord. "And I so call my students out..." is an elegant use of language is it, Miss? ;D Actually, another one I dislike, but which I seem to be guilty of using way too much, is the use of 'well' as a synonym for 'very'. I don't know whether that is common in the States, but over here you'll hear it a lot. This post of mine was well irritating.

Actually Jesus, it's entirely possible you're the only person who uses "well" interchangeably with "very", which makes you ... well ... a bit of a fucking weirdo, no matter how endearing it is. Never ceases to amaze me what you'll do for attention around here. The lengths you'll go to.
Fuck. Did it again.

It just ocurred to me, the notion of me having sexual relations with my Grade 9 English teacher has been completely upstaged by this whole discussion of grammatical correctness.
It's caused me to review the events as I recall them, and it appears perhaps my memory was slightly in error.
It's plausible that I was engaged in some sort of sexual activity in the Jr. High book room, but perhaps no one else was there, and perhaps there was a copy of Pygmalion opened at a peculiar passage, but again, I'm a bit sketchy on details.
I am pretty sure though that the teacher in question walked in at an unfortunate point in the proceedings, which is probably where my mind has made the leap to having sex with her rather than a month's worth of detention.

My girlfriend is a seventh grade English teacher, so I get to live out that fantasy each and every Monday-Friday at about 3:15 p.m. It's great.

My high school music teacher was a hot pervert, so several of my classmates got to live out that fantasy in his office, at his house, at their houses, on the stage in the gymnasium...
... that is, of course, until he got his ass thrown in jail.
