DAT master > CDR CDR > eac (secure) > flac(8) Taper: D.S.
A 12 year old note from the taper: "I use a Sony DAT recorder and an Audio Technica stereo microphone. I play the DAT on a Panasonic SV-3800 DAT deck, run it through a Mackie mixer (to get rid of the bass/muddy sound) and a Behringer Pro compressor. The compressor helps to blend the people around me who are singing or talking. From the compressor I go into a Roland VS-880EX digital workstation to edit out the people talking if it's loud and annoying. I don't edit the time between tracks unless somebody is too loud and just not talking about the show. If it's show related, I leave it in. I burn a master CD from the Roland."

i have been looking for a copy of THIS for years. UNfortunately its quality is so-so though thoroughly acceptable - and might possibly be a few degrees better if i could at LEAST find this in mp3 - i'm VERY grateful to have found it on sugarmegs. mp3 copies there are a brand new feature, gotten ONLY with the 'latest additions'....everything else back in the 10s of 1000s catalogued and saved from before, are wma files in a 40 bitrate, which generally STILL ain't 'bad', especially if the recording's so-so. you can only polish a turd so much, wtf.
i was AT this show (the 'United' center to be more exact) 2 days bef my 45th birthday with a good buddy of mine....and the '8 miles high' they encored with has, to my personal audio memory, NEVER been played so crazy as on this night - and i've accumulated 4-5 Y2K tour bootlegs and to each '8 miles high' it's been 'meh' and 'meh' and 'meh' because i KNOW this wasn't just me exaggerating it for myself, as super-excited as i was that night to see CSNY for the 2nd time since 1976. i'd even run into david crosby and his wife THAT day at the art institute, which was another of my treats to myself that day...well it ws actually crosby's wife who ran into me(backed into)at one of the impressionist halls...
1/2 way trhough this 3 hour show....oh yeah!!

Memories This legendary show exists on boots of varying length and quality. Many are incomplete. This to my knowledge (and hazy memory) this is complete. This is the only fully acoustic show by The Byrds - forced at the time because the rain during the festival made the use of electric gear too dangerous. My memories are hazy at best. A combination of long time ago, a lot of weed then, lack of sleep, and a heavy dose of Zeppelin early during the evening. My outstanding memory of Bath was that it was aptly named - it rained. It continued raining. I don't think I have ever been so wet. I did not think it was possible to be that wet and not dissolve. I had reached the stage of 'had enough' and was ready to leave and find somewhere drier - but was persuaded to stay by a friend - a good decision. These guys earned my eternal respect for their determination to put on a show (in spite of dreadful conditions - you can hear the thunder and rain on the recording), for playing their hearts out to the audience and for the sheer musical skill and dexterity. Wonderful stuff. The recording is rated as good to very good. It could be a lot better if someone with the skill and technical knowledge applied themselves to it (treat that as a big please and grovel). I uploaded this about two years ago when I joined dime, and it was very popular. It has long since fallen off the tracker, so as a sort-of two year anniversary - it is reoffered for those who missed it first time. Enjoy
ArsNova August 2009
this was at like 4AM during a freakin' thunderstorm.
you can hear the thunder in several spots...NOT prima donnas these guys. the hippie ethos was alive.

john einarson's 'desperados' book brought me here and i'm forever grateful - these guys were wonderful!:
Poco 1974-06-01 Seattle, WA Paramount Theater Audience recording (JEMS Master), very good quality mp3 @ 320 kbps
Here's more Poco, from the next stage of their career. Following Ritchie Furay's departure in late 1973, Poco continued as a quartet, deciding not to add anyone to replace Furay. This meant that the rest of the band members had to really step-up to fill the shoes of someone who lead the band, was their strongest vocalist, and was one of the main songwriters. Fortunately, that's exactly what happened, with Rusty Young and Timothy B. Schmit taking on much larger roles, partnering with Paul Cotton as a triumvirate of singing, songwriting, and performing talent. Rusty, in particular, had primarily only been the multi-dimensional guitarist (pedal steel, banjo, Dobro, mandolin, etc.) up to that point, and not actively involved in singing or songwriting. Fortunately, he has a fine singing voice (which allowed them to continue to feature their 3- and 4-part harmony vocals without missing a beat), and also was an accomplished songwriter, too, contributing many fine songs to their repertoire. This quartet lineup also gave the group some much-needed stability. After 4 lineup changes in their first 3 years, this core quartet group remained intact for several more years (from 1973-1978, until Schmit left to join the Eagles). This period became the most stable and arguably most productive period of the band, as well as produced some of their best albums (5 solid albums in 4 years: Seven, Contamos, Head Over Heels, Indian Summer, and Rose of Cimarron), alas, still without much mainstream commercial success. The show featured here is from the 1974 tour in support of Seven, and it has very good sound quality, and is a fine example of how well Poco carried on without Ritchie Furay .

Masters of jazz from master audience tapes. No noise reduction has been used in this recording at all. The only processing done was normalizing to balance the channels evenly, and some ICPVR (individual clap peak volume reduction) between songs. This torrent is certified to be free of glitches/pegs/clips or gaps by Glasnost Radio Productions. comments: A very fine 1st show in Boston from the Splendito Hotel tour, and a nice recording too. It's complete, clear sound, yet another of my 1st 25 uploads that were in my now-dead computer but fortunately already on discs (glitch free) from the master tapes. Right down the street from where Al learned so much about how to play guitar the way only he knows how to (Berklee College of Music). it's a club gig, much to Al's liking as he comments in the show. He's had a very good history in Boston concerts, and plenty of appreciation. I hope to share that with you both in this and a 1977 Boston show I have on the way or already up. Anybody got Al's 1976 Boston show (one of just a few without RTF in 76) or 82, or late show 80, or the other 2 Boston 77 (he played 3 nights of 2 sets each night, I have the 4/23/77, both sets, Elegant Gypsy tour from 1st gen. aud.). If you like Al, electric or acoustic, I've got some treats for you, and this would qualify as one of them. Bandwidth and seed-space permitting, I have 4 Al DiMeola shows up or coming soon, all different tours of 77-82, plus a few more with RTF. Al DiMeola is one of the world's great guitarists, and he likes to prove it whenever I've seen him. I didn't like the 2 shows I saw of his in 1985, very sleepy (especially for DiMeola) but everything of 1983 and before has been really great music. That's the Al you'll be hearing from me. I have a few acoustic Al masters, the 81 is great, this is my only master of Electric Al. Do Not Sell this recording. Trade freely and losslessly.

Randy Hansen
Jimi Hendrix 70th Birthday Celebration B.B.King's New York City November 25th, 2012
Recorded & transferred by Bob Pitlak Source: Zoom H-4>wav>sdhc>pc>cd wav>traders little helper>flac 16 bit audience recording
This was Randy's return to New York after a 20 year absence, having such a huge following worldwide he was long overdue to come back, finally things fell into place thanx to Hendrix documentary filmaker/promoter David Kramer who needed Randy's special touch for Jimi's 70th Birthday. The lineup for the show had many gifted and well known guitarists on board and Randy was the big name on the ticket so the pressure must have been on to impress everyone old and new and Randy's been doing this for over 30 years now nevertheless many of the artist's here had so much respect for him backstage/ onstage didn't matter, i think he was really touched by the admiration people showed him here tonight. The set was relatively short considering all the other bands on hand, that said Randy made the most of his time by humbly acknowledging the crowd first then got down to business with some really great guitarmanship as usual, playing and staying away from the classics for the most part and venturing into some of the more exotic Hendrix tunes, been waiting a long time too see some of those tunes played live, a lot of the stuff played at this show would be considered studio material so Randy surprised everybody when he brought the Swedish Hendrix tribute band Ducks Can Groove onstage to back him up and second guitarist Stefan Edfeldts who is a fantastic guitarist really helped fill in the blanks adding an Electric Ladyland feel to the show. This was a fantastic albeit short set, some amazing guitar showmanship & comradery between two phenomenal guitarists that never played together before this gig, same goes for the rest of the band , it's amazing to see and hear how in sync these guys were considering being the first time playing together you would think they have played many times before. At the end of the set, Randy humbly recieved the crowds standing ovation asking if we wanted him to come back, the crowd roared back with their answer. There isn't an encore per say after this set, but Randy comes back a little later to do an improv "Happy Birthday" on guitar to finish out the night. All in all you couldn't ask for more here with such a spirited set here, Randy delivered the goods as promised and then some, hopefully be be back real soon.
Fantastic performance and sweet audience recording as well !

ARVO PART
A Portrait (Part VII) [no label, 3CD]
Live at various venues and dates. All titles are from various 192kbps (MPEG-Layer 3) webcasts except CD2, Track 01, which came from a Tascam DR-05 digital audio recording. Excellent audio. For those not steeped in the classical or the canonical, the phrase, “transcend, purify, glorious”, will call to mind Neil Diamond’s Jonathan Livingston Seagull. But it too describes, somewhat simplistically, Estonian composer Arvo Part’s music. Arvo Part wrote some of the saddest music ever heard and his music is more suited to the Lenten period. But a case can also be made for Part’s music to be played during the Advent season, especially for those who want something contemplative and meditative. Probably, the three Missa Brevis tracks on Disc Two - Kyrie, Sanctus and Agnus Dei (Gloria and Benedictus were not performed/broadcast?) - might not seem out of place on Christmas morning. After all, what’s death if there is no birth? [Better suited to the Christmas mood might be Part’s more “uplifting” Kanon Pokajanen and Fur Alina.] Stephen Eddins, reviewing Part’s Tabula Rasa album at allmusic.com, wrote: The 1984 ECM album Tabula Rasa was the vehicle that introduced the revolutionary music of Arvo Pärt to audiences outside Eastern Europe and initiated what was to become one of the most extraordinary musical careers of the late 20th century. Like many of the first generation American minimalists, he limited himself to diatonic harmonies and generated pieces by setting processes in motion, but the radical simplicity he achieved was the result of religious contemplation that was at least as, if not more, formative than his quest for a new musical aesthetic. The result was music suffused by an unhurried, luminous serenity, and while it was distinctly contemporary, it had an archaic quality that tied it to the music of the very distant past. For the past few years, Neetelbaers has been collecting and compiling Arvo Part’s music from various sources and then sharing them at Dime. This is Part VII. Here’s thanks to Neetelbaers for all the efforts. Front cover, modified from artwork by xlnt77 - Thanks! Click on the highlighted tracks to download the MP3s (192 kbps). ^ ooo-wee! the death throes of civilization... i sense a congressional campaign platform here perhaps. the possibilities boggle. foo. ~ NOW: Vernon Reid,Gil Parris,Ducks Can Groove With Special Guests Jimi Hendrix 70th Birthday Celebration B.B.King's New York City November 25th,2012' Recorded & transferred by Bob Pitlak Source: Zoom H-4>wav>sdhc<pc>cd wav>audacity(fade in)>traders little helper>flac 16 bit audience recording
This is the final upload of the show, also some special guests mixed in here & there that are doing some unique arrangements on some of Jimi's classics and it's all good. The show starts off with musical director for the show Andre Lassalle sneaking in a quick tune any chance between bands showboating a little i guess, bringing on stage Sophia Ramos to due a very warm version of Castles Made Of Sand to start things off before Vernon Reid and members of the Black Rock Coalition take the stage. Vernon Reid is well known for his tributes to Jimi Hendrix, so tonight with the help of Mike "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton on guitar and Sophia Ramos on vocals they launch into the ever guitar classic, Voodoo Child (Slight Return) with a different take on this even maybe a medley to my ears that gets Vernon in the mood to shred like he does best. After a quick story, Vernon Reid puts his stamp on the infamous "Are You Experienced" throwing down something wicked, sounds that seem Vernon Reid can only get out of a guitar. Jumping in again while Vernon leaves the stage for a moment, Andre Lassalle with the help of the band tackle the hit "Manic Depression" , getting off some nice wah-wah infused spangly riffs during his solo. Vernon comes back onstage, inviting 14 year old bass prodigy Katelin Deutsch to join him to do a tribute to Jimi as well as the late Hubert Sumlin on "Killing Floor".Nice to hear Vernon's take on some of these tunes when he has to slow it down just a bit. Next up is guitar virtuoso Gil Parris, known for his unique style and sound that he brings on guitar, combining elements of blues/rock/jazz to form his sound he is full of wonderful little embellishments that you have too see him play live to understand how he gets all those sounds out of the guitar."Little Wing" seems to be his Hendrix favorite as i've seen him do it twice now and he does such a unique take on this popular Hendrix classic your just gonna have to listen and see for yourselves. A surprise to everyone at this point in the show was when Randy Hansen came back out solo to do a very special "Happy Birthday" on guitar for Jimi. The last act of the show was The Ducks Can Groove coming back out to play a couple more of the lesser known Hendrix tunes with Andre Lassalle on guitar, Eli Brown taking the vocals one last time to round out the show. Some fastastic guitarwork at this event from many different guitarists, most complimenting each other to create some great atmosphere, that's what Jimi was all about.
Sweet audience recording and some killer performances here !
