Bow...dunno if you know or not but along with his brother Hamish and Robert Scott (from the Bats) they are The Clean....
They all have numerous side projects and maybe that is why The Clean were not very prolific, even though their career spans some 24 odd years!!

really?..you know Straw, I was wondering if he was with some other band, such as the Church.......and you know how I feel about the Clean.......so were there ever Flying Nun type of concerts, with a few of those like-minded labelmates performing together?..........I would be in pop heaven to see the Chills, The Church, the Clean and Straitjacket Fits on the same bill!!
Achn2b...........I am sincerely sorry about your loss.......on the one hand, I see Ken's point about getting a new pet, but it is such an individual thing.......I wish you the best................

bow
the other weekend we had a TV program called National Anthem play for 24 hours solid...all NZ bands, all live somewhere in NZ...In Dunedin, the spiritual home of Flying Nun they had The Verlaines, The Chills, The Bats and Chris Knox play during the day...so that would be the place to be. I remember in my younger days seeing the Nun bands playing singularly and together, and ofcourse now the label is being led by bands such as The Mint Chicks and PanAm, and this old FN fan still turns out when they come through town....I even have a great black and white Flying Nun Tee Shirt from years back, thats pretty cool to wear at a concert...normally gets the band visiting you
bit like my Dead Boys Tee...I remember the Steriogram guys popping over and talking to me, just because I had that shirt on at a concert once...

Hey guys. How have you been? I graduated in May and decided to take some time off before grad school. So I impulsively moved to DC and just got a job at a record store in Georgetown last week. Best job ever! Here's a list of stuff I've been listening to recently: Junior Boys- Last Exit (seriously one of my favorite albums ever) Sonic Youth- Sonic Nurse (anyone pick this up yesterday? i'm impressed.) Viktor Vaughn- Vaudeville Villain (out of everything i've heard by MF Doom, this is my favorite) !!!- Louden Up Now Joanna Newsom- The Milk-Eyed Mender The Smiths- The Queen is Dead Pan Sonic- Kesto Clinic- Winchester Cathedral Arthur Russell- The World of Arthur Russell The Clientele- Suburban Light

Glad you finally made it over here, aphex!! And congratulations on graduating! Where will you be starting graduate school, and what will you be studying? And (sorry to bombard you with questions!!) what record store are you working at? I know quite a few of them in the d.c. area - I'm kinda bummed you're working this summer, cause it's going to be the first summer in years that I'm not going to visit my friends in d.c., so any other summer I'd have been able to come by and meet ya!!
NP: The Silos - Cuba (song: All Falls Away)
Cheers, M

Hello Aphex, nice to see you here too! Congrats on the graduation and nice to see another record store-person here...it's indeed like heaven to the music lover (most of the time anyway!). If I may ask: Do you get away playing some reasonable extreme stuff in your store? Like hardcore hiphop, Aphex Twin, uneasy-listenig-stuff?
That Pan Sonic is one hell of a brainwormer, isn't it? Love the speeded up-disc the most. Funny thing was that i first heard it while some guys at the back of where I work were drilling up the pavement- somehow it seemed like the perfect soundtrack.
NP- Bass Communion- II, track: Dwarf Artillery

Just came back from reading AMG's review of the Allman Brothers Band's The Anthology ...
They forgot to include Duane Allman in the credits at the bottom of the page ... !Ö!...

The credits on AMG are VERY hit-and-miss, often possibly crediting the 'Allman Brothers Band'(just forinstance, cos I've seen it with many bands there)and then not naming the individual members....
