There's an Italian music critic who compiled a list of the GREATEST works of the mid-late 20th century, and it's quite a broad palatte, taking in classical, jazz and rock. Here's his list of the Top 20, in case anyone's interested:

Bizarre how that critic would take Dream Theory In Malaya over Possible Worlds Volume 2 as the more important electronica-album. Both share a large affinity with using presets and triggered trumpet-blasts but I prefer the percussion and the more in-depth kind of production of Eno on the latter.
Still, great to see Hassell getting a mention.

Ligeti I only know from the music of 2001. Is it all like that?
