Strat (and anyone else who hasn't voted on this topic yet) -- I was tied up all weekend, and haven't had any time today to spend on this, so by unilateral fiat, I'm extending the voting through 5 p.m. tomorrow, with results to follow some time Tuesday night or Wednesday.

Well, I'll give it a shot. This list is way less than perfect, but the show must go on. I tried to come up with some that weren't ancient history, but hey, great is great. The order is a little arbitrary. I think there are going to be a lot of one-vote albums in this poll.
1. Who's Next - The Who 2. Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd 3. Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy - The Who 4. Allman Brothers - Eat a Peach 5. Quadrophenia - The Who 6. History of Eric Clapton (1972) 7. Layla - Derek and the Dominoes 8. Led Zeppelin I 9. Led Zeppelin III 10. Paranoid - Black Sabbath 11. Get Your Wings - Aerosmith 12. Aerosmith - Aerosmith 13. Tyranny and Mutation - Blue Oyster Cult 14. Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd 15. Learning to Crawl - Pretenders 16. Live at Leeds - The Who 17. Rock and Roll Animal - Lou Reed 18. Aqualung - Jethro Tull 19. 2112 - Rush 20. The Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus - Spirit 21. All the Young Dudes - Mott The Hoople 22. Dire Straits - Dire Straits 23. Achtung Baby - U2 24. Abraxes - Santana 25. Willy and the Poor Boys - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating In Space - SPIRITUALIZED
I've GOT to get this album. From everything I've heard about it, it's right up my alley.

RocDoc -- don't suppose I could get you to attach some artist names to that listing? 'Cause there are a few there that I have no clue with ...

Gee, I feel better now!
I wanted to put in either Four Way Street or Deja Vu, but alas, they didn't make the cut. Neither did Jeff Beck - Wired, or Faces - A Nod is as Good as a Wink to a Blind Horse, and several others.

Jesus fucking Christ that was hard! It was much easier listing my favorite 100 albums than it was just doing 25. I'm afraid that I'll be contributing my share to the "one vote wonders" ... I wonder if any meaningful concensus at all will come out of this? It's gonna be an interesting sheet to total up ...
So here's my own list, subject to change at any moment, no live albums, I don't think I used any best of sets, and a minimum of duplicates from any artist:
London Calling -- the Clash Blonde on Blonde -- Bob Dylan Abbey Road -- The Beatles Who's Next -- The Who "Heroes" -- David Bowie This Year's Model -- Elvis Costello and the Attractions The Velvet Underground -- The Velvet Underground Achtung Baby -- U2 Diesel and Dust -- Midnight Oil Empty Glass -- Pete Townshend The Band -- The Band The River -- Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Under the Big Black Sun -- X The Clash -- The Clash The Velvet Underground and Nico -- The Velvet Underground (and Nico) Dig Me Out -- Sleater-Kinney Revolver -- the Beatles Tim -- The Replacements Automatic for the People -- R.E.M. Willie and the Poor Boys -- CCR All Mod Cons -- the Jam The Harder They Come -- original soundtrack The Beatles -- The Beatles Power, Corruption, and Lies -- New Order Damn the Torpedoes -- Tom Petty

Looking back at my list, it looks like two live albums were included: (Live at Leeds and Rock and Roll, which are exceptional or very 'different' live albums; and one compilation, The History of Eric Clapton, which is a great slice of his career and has a lot of great music, but it's funny to have something named the "history" of EC released in 1972.
I note a few recurring albums in different places in a lot of lists. This will be interesting. Did we get anything from Maarts? Jac? I can think of a few others! Maarts is busy with moving and all... guess Jac's busy too... (what with all them crack hoes to deal with...)

Strat -- I really thought about Live at Leeds, but it hit up against two of my self-imposed "suggestions" for the list. First, it was a live album, and I decided that it just became too damn hard if I included live albums (this would have necessitated two Dylan live sets, the Jam's superb Dig the New Breed, Springsteen's epic live box set, etc.). Second, Who's Next is a no-brainer for this list, and I really was trying to keep duplicates down to an absolute minimum. The Beatles managed to sneak in there a few times (I didn't realize that the white album had made the final cut until after I'd posted it), and it actually pained me to leave Sandinista! out, but with the Clash already represented twice ...
Horribly difficult task.
Riley -- It was really hard for me to pick a single Jam LP, and I nearly included Snap as they were such an incredible singles band, but All Mod Cons is the studio album that I keep coming back to. I'm often inclined to give Sound Effects higher marks, but for today, it's production sounds just a bit too busy in places, whereas AMC is spot-on. And the opener of All Mod Cons and Too Be Someone, combined with two of the strongest songs to wrap up any album of its era (A-Bomb in Wardour Street and the absolutely brilliant Down in the Tube Station at Midnight) make it a tough one to top.
Wild Wood came this close to making my list as well, but there were hard choices to be made.
