I thought the only thing he listened to was the wind whistleing between his ears.

Alright now for some association:
1. Franz Ferdinand = Josef K/ Orange Juice 2. Interpol = The Church (seriously!) 3. The Bravery = Dead or Alive (who I HATE!) 4. Yeah Yeah Yeahs = Siouxsie and the Banshees 5. The Killers = Duran Duran/U2 6. The Faint = New Order/PIL 7. The Kaiser Chiefs = Happy Mondays/The Boomtown Rats 8. Pavement = The Fall 9. The Futureheads = XTC 10. Bloc Party = who cares they just suck

Had to give it to the Smiths, by an oh-so-slim margin over New Order. Morrissey and Co never put out a dud (not counting the live album) but New Order did (Republic). Now if Joy Division had been on the list...

The Bravery could be Vince Clarke era Depeche Mode, no? ;D As for Bloc Party, young man, they're actually British Sea Power with a better sense of melody

no, the bravery is all the worst traits of new order, with none of their originality, songwriting or arranging skills. just the mimicry of the bleat-bleat synthesizer chirps.
and how can you slam the boomtown rats that way?

The Kaiser Chiefs do not resemble the Happy Mondays on any level.
I hear some XTC in The Futureheads (Hot Hot Heat rip on XTC way more), but I really hear a lot more of The Jam.
The Killers are almost a greatest hits act, who have either very deliberately or accidentally made songs that seem to each on their own resemble either Duran Duran, New Order, The Smiths, or The Cure.
The song "Erection" by The Faint is so Violator era Depeche Mode it's unbelievable.

How about Soft Cell? Those guys get ripped off so often and they are just brilliant!

I actually do like Arctic Monkeys, I think they're pretty good. I can't remember if someone asked me that here or on the other new wave boards. I also highly recommend the new record from UK act Test Icicles. Man, the UK band names are starting to get ridiculous
