Play along. I'm bored.

Maybe it should be "Who is the most promising?" as well, since this is a (pre-)pubescent movement.

I've kicked off with a vote for Interpol. This is partly due to the fact that they've simply been around longer and have more output than Editors or Bloc Party.
They're also darker than the wonderfully catchy sounds of FF or HHH, which suits my preference for the Joy Divisions of life over its New Orders. I guess I'm a morose fucker.
Interpol, even at their simplest, also have this wonderful tonal quality that elevates the song-writing beyond just a bunch of eigth-notes.
Finally, Carlos is like Hooky-plus on the bass. Always interesting and melodic, although with an annoying tendency to over-do the octaving on occasion.

Franz. Interpol had some really shitty songs on that second album, and Franz have yet to release a single dud. Even all the b-sides have been spot on.
I wouldn't even have bothered putting those last three bands on there, though. The Bravery and the Kaiser Chiefs are a complete fucking joke, and Hot Hot Heat should have quit after Make Up the Breakdown or whatever it was called. That new one stinks.
I have a feeling that The Killers are just going to self-destruct under the weight of Brandon Flowers' primpy ego, and Bloc Party have some serious potential to release a really boring second album. Hopefully they'll keep it tight, though...

If British Sea Power fit this category, then I'm with Drum. Still haven't got the second LP, but the debut was a worthy (if slightly overlong) effort. Otherwise, I'll probably take FF, as I prefer the New Orders to the Joy Divisions of life.

I thought about BSP. Do they fit the criteria though? Obviously Drum feels it's a non-brainer.
I agree that the next Bloc Party might be tedious, judging by the recent "Two More Years".

BSP does fit the bill. i'd vote for them, in fact. Since they're not here, i voted for Interpol, for they are the ace face of this scene. Word.

Does the Arcade Fire not qualify?

I voted for Interpol by default. It's a pretty meaningless vote. The only other band on this entire list I've ever knowingly heard was Franz Ferdinand, and I thought they were mostly shit. But I quite like Interpol. As for the others.... I'm an old fogey, I can't be bothered to keep up with this nonsense anymore Cheers, M

They all fucking suck-cept Interpol and Hot Hot Heat (both bands have some decent songs).
