One of my friends in high school gave a blowjob to someone in Trixter. I can't remember who. Really. Really? Guy or girl? Really. Girl. She met someone in the band at a party in Jersey. They're from Jersey. If I remember correctly she was 14 and the guy was 17, so it wasn't actually THAT gross and weird and groupie-esque. It was more just like dumb stoned metalhead kids fucking around. They started the band as teenagers. Wow, I can't believe I'm devoting any of my brain cells to knowing a single fucking thing about Trixter. That's ridiculous. Cheers, M

Alas, I don't know. I don't think I'd ever have been able to recognize him, anyway. I did once know whether he was the singer or the drummer or whatever, but my brain has moved on to store more important information Plus, that friend, um, got around in high school. It would be hard to keep track of all the lame band members she blew. Mostly local bands that no one ever heard of. (There was an Onion article years ago with a headline that said something like "Local band members receives fellatio over weekend" and it always makes me think of her...) I just remember the Trixter thing because it's so spectacularly embarrassing, especially in retrospect. It's possible that I actually thought it was kinda badass when I was 14, though. Cheers, M

NP: Cherry Pie - Warrant \m/ She's my cherry pie Cool drink of water Such a sweet surprise Tastes so good Make a grown man cry Sweet cherry pie!j/k of course. I wonder if we'll be laughing with hip-hop 20 years from now. I mean, I already laugh with most hip-hop songs and videos, I'm just waiting for the world to catch on. I saw the video for U2's Pride the other day and it hit me why they're one of the few acts to still be making successful, relevant music. Bono's mullet aside, that video could've been done any time in the past 20 years and it would still look [and sound] cool. Just a band performing, no BS theatrics, nothing. And a powerful song to boot. Again, Bon Jovi's ongoing success on the other hand still remains a mystery. He's probably made a pact with the devil like Jimmy Page did... only thing being Jimmy didn't really need it.

Oh well, I suppose we shouldn't really complain about them. Those wankers Creed split up didn't they? We should be thankful for that alone... oh God they were dreadful. May they rest in fucking peace and never be heard from again... literally!!

A few months back I sent out a double-CD of Hair Band Heaven to this guy I knew in my early youth. In fact, he's THE one person who turned me onto music...now I find out that he's TOTALLY stuck in the 80's era of spandex and David Lee yelp's....
Some of the selections I dumped on him courtesy of Limewire as I don't have this stuff just laying around mind you,,,,,
LA GUNS : "Never Enough", "Bitch Is Back", "Electric Gypsy" DANGEROUS TOYS: "Teas'n Pleas'n" JACKYL: "Locked And Loaded", "I Stand Alone", "Down On Me", "Dirty Little Mind" KEEL: "Speed Demon" WINGER: "Madalaine", "Headed For A Heartbreak", "17" BULLETBOYS: "Smooth Up In Ya", "For The Love Of Money" <=butchery of The O'Jays!!!! EXTREME: "Decadence Dance", "Hole Hearted" WARRENT: "Uncle Tom's Cabin" FASTER PUSSYCAT: "Bathroom Wall", "Too Tight", "House Of Pain", "Where There's A Whip There's A Way" <='dese guys could kick ass in a rauncy Aerosmith way.... DAMN YANKEES: "Don't Tread On Me" KIX: "Red Lite, Green Lite, TNT", Blow My Fuse" SLAUGHTER: "Up All Night", "Fly To The Angels" WHITE LION: "Little Fighter", "When The Children Cry", "Lonely Nights", "Wait"

Kool, U2 isn't making relevant music anymore. Stop kidding yourself. That's like saying Bon Jovi still makes relevant music just because they make an album that appeals to their base. U2 and Bon Jovi are flip sides of the same coin, except U2 used to be great.
We both lie silently still in the dead of the night... - I vote Poison.

Some fun tunes there Don. If we were to assume all the bands mentioned here were indeed "hair bands" (I think they all share an era and a quasi similar vibe, but I wouldn't call all of them "hair bands"), here's what a mix for me would look like of songs both good and bad that I would still hold near and dear or otherwise.
Warrant - Uncle Tom's Cabin Skid Row - Mudkicker Ratt - You're In Love Slaughter - Mad About You Winger - Seventeen Motley Crue - Same Old Situation Dokken - The Hunter White Lion - Little Fighter Poison - Nothing But A Good Time L.A. Guns - Never Enough Tesla - Gettin' Better Def Leppard - Photograph Damn Yankees - Coming Of Age Cinderella - Shake Me Great White - Lady Red Light Black 'N' Blue - Hold On To 18 Whitesnake - Still Of The Night David Lee Roth - Yankee Rose The Bulletboys - Smooth Up In Ya Trixter - You'll Never See Me Cryin' Faster Pussycat - Don't Change That Song Dangerous Toys - Scared Hanoi Rocks - I Can't Get It Night Ranger - Touch Of Madness Guns 'N' Roses - Think About You Mr. Big - Wind Me Up W.A.S.P. - I Wanna Be Somebody Keel - Because The Night London Quireboys - Seven O'Clock

yeah, the term "hair band" I'm using fairly broadly....some of the bands listed employ jus' a bit more of the AquaNet than others do.......
"I Wanna Be Somebody" just fuckin' kicks ass all OVER the place!!! I saw W.A.S.P. at the HOB in New Orleans last summer and that was the tune that brought the house down....
