Chastised! I have to admit I've not seen 'em live. At least I admit I was wrong over Modest Mouse though, eh?

Lifeson. Someone has to give Mr. Zivojinovich a couple votes, right?

Clapton, Beck and Page were all in awe of Jimi Hendrix ... If he was good enough for those three, he must be good enough for me !! Didn't Hendrix agree to go to England becuase he'd get to meet Jeff Beck?

Obviously no one could not notice the brilliance of Hendrix's guitar playing...
... but seeing a reasonably gifted guitarist like Slash attempt to recreate his part in 'Hey Joe' at last month's UK Hall of Fame show and sound almost like a grade II beginner made me realise (again) Hendrix' brilliance.

There is absolutely no reason why Jimi shouldn't run away with this. But it amuses me to no end to see Alex Lifeson tied with the immortal Hendrix, for now.

*clarification: My "amusement" is wholly directed at those who'd dare scoff at Alex even having entered the Finals. Personally I think Alex Lifeson's guitar achievements (both live and in the studio) brilliantly give Jimi a run for his money. Which is why I voted for the incomparable Mr. Zivojinovich

Hmm, my 'preferred' guitarist... well I prefer Johnny Marr to anyone up there. Marr was technically ace - he could apparently play the collected works of Steve Vai effortlessly, so he'd have been a safe pick to take on the devil. But what he actually wrote and played was fookin' ace.
From a maestro viewpoint, however, I vote Hendrix.
And I listened to the reasonable enough White Blood Cells again and all I can say is Jack White must be fucking good live, 'cos in the studio... well, never mind Hendrix, Allman, Beck, Gilmour etc. He isn't even Corgan, Bellamy, Slash or even Justin Hawkins. There, I said it.

I've seen White live, and he was pretty on with that guitar...I've got love, for sure.
I picked Billy Corgan. Along with being the frontman of my favorite band ever, he can connect with me with that guitar in a way that no one else can even come close to. I really wish he had more respect for his amazing guitar work and didn't insist on releasing pure shit like his latest album.

Dammit. I wanted to vote for Jimmy Page but I may have accidentally voted for Dave Gilmour. At least, that's who I think the wrong vote went to.

Dammit thorn! You made it so I can't even say 'Lifeson? Yup, leave it to the Canadjuns!'
Tho, wait a sec! You had that hyper-pituitary'd uncle in Nova Scotia didn't you...
Figures.

...and dammit, ya made me look for Pat Metheny on the list.
Would be a most deserving choice however. In that sort of guitar jazz vein, heve you ever heard anything by Pat Martino?
Phenomenal player.

So few actually know how talented a guitarist he really is. Everyone just assumes it was Iha -- and although James Iha is certainly adept at the instrument as well, Billy provided just as many (if not more) of the scorching soloes and awesome guitar parts. good call
