Shit, I didn't even know that dreads HAD wax in 'em....tho they look like they should.
Joe Perry was and is a savant of the rock riff...he attacks the guitar in the same way that Stevie Ray Vaughan did, not giving a fuck about where his fingers are going, but knowing that they're gonna get right where they're needed.
The riff, the buncha chords, a solo with the riff repeating within it, a wah-scream, a squeal...back to the riff...solo...chords...he's banging that guitar on his hip like it's a percussion instrument..
The only other guys I've also seen play that way is the guy who plays for the band, Indigenous, Mato Nanji...and then Jimmy Page.
...and to me, Joe Perry is placed somewhere between Page and then the coolest ol' snaggletooth Keef, tho with FAR less slop than what Jimmy Page plays...

I'd be interested after I find out if its an acceptable ratio of old to new....I do NOT want to ever hear that fucking 'Jaded' shit again...
Does it also have material from the Bobo disc...?
I'd love to see them do Baby Please Don't Go...IF they can approach the infuckingtensity on the studio disc...
I gotta look this up...

yeah - I really should've put Joe in my Top 10. I could switch him & Beck, or maybe switch him w/brian May . . . but I s'pose he's just as well off at "lucky #13" on the list. For plain badassness, ain't no one got Joe Perry beat. The other day I listened to my old vinyl "I've Got The Rock'n'Rolls AGain", w/heavy songs like "TV police" and the infectious acoustic guitar strumming of "South Side Station", to the outright jammin of "East coast west coast" and balls out attitude of "No substitute for Arrogance", that album is a hands-down winner, pretty much from start to finish. gotta love the cover pic too:

Just for the record I wouldn't have had Head nor Munky on the list either. They haven't done anything that impressive.

Sorry man, but I have heard all of their stuff and it really doesn't hit me. It is bad enough that Jonathan Davis sounds like he is getting a fire hydrant shoved up his ass by another member of his band, then the musicianship really isn't just there. I saw them live too and it sounded worse than there cds. Thats just how I feel man.

I knew there was something bothering me about those two lists ...
Frank Zappa is nowhere to be found on either of them ...
Zappa may not be for everybody's taste but there's no denying his guitar playing skills !!

Had I thought of our dearly departed Frank -- I surely would've added him too. Nobody can touch the stuff he did with the guitar, nobody.
