"Wasted Time" or whatever the hell it was called was the only one that didn't drive me nuts. And maybe "Desperado." But that's about it. Like the Dude said, I fucking hate the Eagles.
Wait, why are we spending so much time on them? On this thread of all damned places?
Fuck the Eagles. And fuck Hotel California. Good God that song is terrible. Perhaps one of their worst.

I guess it is quite funny. In the sense that scratching your nails down a chalk board is fun for only the one partaking. And annoying party favors.
I hate the Eagles more than I hate...ummm...Joe Lieberman? Sure...that'll work.

And as of right now, all four ads at the top are devoted to the friggin Eagles. Thanks!
This is totally lame: Welcome to the Hotel California Huge selection of Eagles tickets.
Were you aware that The Eagles is an anagram for Satan's Blistering, Gonorrhea-Ridden Asshole? It is the way I spell it anyway.

Don't know how I missed these gems. I wanted to include "Dream On," but then I saw something on TV about Aerosmith and they pissed me off. U2 almost missed the list for the same reason. You may notice that U2 comes in at number 50 on my list... and that's the reason why. I can't stand Bono. Can. Not. Stand. I can't stand to hear his voice, can't stand to see him on TV. I have zero interest in hearing anything that U2 does at this point. I change the channel if I hear them on the TV or radio. But there's no denying that they wrote some great songs way back when... so I couldn't in good conscience leave them off altogether. So sticking them at #50 was my only choice. There, I feel better getting that off my chest.

I was trying to think of some U2 songs to include as well....I'm not a huge fan, I really don't care for them that much, but I figured something off The Joshua Tree should be inlcuded; but for my list it will be in the 40-50 range.

Eagles Songs That Don't Make Me Puke When I Hear Them:
1. Life in the Fast Lane 2. The Long Run 3. Desperado 4. Hotel California 5. um, maybe Take It Easy, though I'm starting to get queesy ... 6. er, where's a bucket? I'll take Joe Walsh's Life's Been Good instead of anything else by the Eagles ... 7. OK, if pressed I might be able to sit through One of These Nights ... but just the single, NOT the whole damn album! 8. No more! I can't take it ... look, Don Henley has a great voice, and with the right collaborators (read: NOT GLENN FREY!) could do some great stuff. So just go buy his solo records OK? The End of the Innocence is one of the best American rock albums of the eighties (and better than Springsteen's Born in the U.S.A., seriously!), so let's just forget about that "other" band he's sometimes in. Deal?

"Life's Been Good"; I called it Life Goes On, goes to show how much I really know abou the Eagles. Funny post about them by the way.....and thanks for that U2 list; saves me the trouble of having to research what I'm deeming as a top 50 single...For the record I think "Where The Streets Have No Name" will make my list, maybe at #47 or something like that. Or maybe I should have "Sunday Bloody Sunday" instead....

BTW, I didn't mean for that U2 list to be comprehensive or anything. I just figured I'd throw out a few tracks that I know were singles and that anyone who loves rock and roll would be likely to acknowledge. As Springsteen said at their HoF induction, "some of the most beautiful sonic architecture in rock" is on display in these tracks.

Two Hearts Beat as One Don't think I know that last one (doesn't ring a bell, anyway) - but otherwise, I agree with all of those, absolutely. Though I'd change the station if I heard most of their new stuff come on, I'd stick around to listen to these.

Two Hearts is from War ... you'd likely know it if you heard it ... Edge does some simply incredible rythym/lead work on this track, which flat-out rocks. Songs like this were a big reason why War was seen by many as signaling that U2 could pick up the torch that the Clash were in the process of dropping.

And I admit it - I sort of like Hotel California. There.
OK, so I don't go putting it on just for fun, but I DO sing along if I hear it on the radio. Brings back memories of the summer when I was 15 and visiting my cousin in small-town southern Ontario. We went to the drive-in in a neighbouring town (Jurassic Park was playing).
On the way home, we drove down this dark, dusty, absolutely flat backroad. We had the top down on her little convertible, with an eye on the lightning flashing on the horizon. This song came on the radio... just seemed so perfect for this hot summer night in the middle of nowhere, with a storm rolling in and thunder booming.
Don't know why I remember that so clearly, but it really stuck with me. So there. I admitted it.
