haha, settle down, all I did was offer my input, clearly I did not try and "over-intellectualize", and the fact I have yet to put forth any solid "criteria-based arguments" should have been the initial tipoff that I was only making an idle suggestion that singling out "one best" album is a difficult matter. So just back off and accept my visual input as nothing more than a laid back offering of another POV besides your own, sheesh *don't gimme no "wtf"s-!!!

doesn't "Sister Ray" feel like it's got you in a headlock, and isnt talking down to you, and that story about the transvestite sailor scoring amphetamines/smack.. isn't it the most rollicking you've ever heard?
there's no ideological right or left side to it. it just bursts out of the gate running, an ode to the sheer pleasure of creating music. It was done live, totally. keep that in mind.

Honestly I have no respect for a smack head who refers to his ding dong as a ding dong that often. It might be gritty if it weren't so childish and silly...and annoying.

"Sister Ray"
where to begin?
so many aesthetic openings from which to start a convo.
that's the pleasure of it. It's a wide open book of debate.
---- UNLESS YOU GET A BUNCH OF NAYSAYERS who won't even participate in the conversation. Is that what you want to be in life, ded? If that is even your real name, MANTIS!
the part about the transvestite sailor is peripheral.. just a vehicle to move the narrative along.. there is no narrative per se, other than as a wind up to get the song moving. The subject matter is the kinetic riff itself.

What the hell are talking about? It's sloppy, it has bad lyrics and it's way too fucking long. If it were two maybe three minutes I'd give you the riff but after fifteen minutes I'm convince they just didn't know how to stop.

Sister Ray. What album is that on? White Light/White Heat It may be blashphemy around here, but that's my least favorite VU album; Loaded and the self-titled are my favorites.

Actually, I think other than myself, White Light/White Heat seems to be the concensus least favorite (although still well liked). Personally Loaded is my least favorite. The banana album and the third album seem to be the favorites.
