What do you guys think of McCartney's recent one though? I think it's a pretty damn good record and is up there for a post Beatles record. Alas, "All Things Must Pass" will forever be my favorite one, but some of McCartney's out put hasn't been that bad.

I've only heard a couple of tracks from Macca's last LP ... but what I heard was good. I admire the fact that he's looking to work with people who won't just rubber stamp whatever he happens to bring into the studio.
When it shows up in the used bins, I'll probably pick a copy up. Paul hasn't made anything approaching a great record in more than twenty years, but he also hasn't put out anything really embarrassing since, well, Press to Play, or thereabouts. From Flowers in the Dirt on, he's always had at least some solid tracks on every release.

I remember when "All Things Must Pass" came out and a local radio station played the entire album(s) without a single commercial interruption ...
Don't think this could happen nowaday !!

To be honest I don't even think alot of John's solo stuff even shows that much talent. There are definent highmarks but alot of it is just bland. I can't say I've read the replies, or the board, but I was brought here by Strat's opinion that much of Lennon's work os overrated, and then I saw DED's post here and I have to say.... right on brothers. I couldn't agree more. I myself of course think that the Beatles themselves were overrated, even though they produced some bloody amazing and breathtaking (how the fuck did they come up with that at that time?) songs. But Lennon, he really thought he was something genius. And I agree that at least George and Paul, and even dear Ringo, bless his little Meg-sticks cotton socks, put their all into it.... Whereas Lennon was too busy up his own arse getting impresses by Ladder's and Yes's and magnifying glasses and paper bags and other such arty bollocks to come up with anything worthy of his former work. I will say though that Jealous Guy is a wonderful song, and that Imagine - when played over grainy black and white war images and not that gay white room with coke ravaged nasal full of his own self importance hasbeen with ugliest trout ever to have bedded a rock star sidekick... I'll stop now.

Can I also just say that I'm having a gin on top of opiate medication (fuuuuuuuuuuck me) and would therefore like to apologise for my posting style and grammatical errors.
No apologies for the opinions though.
