Their songs just don't stick with me at all. I should really like these guys seeing as the type of stuff I really get into, but four or five spins and I'm done with it. Nothing that sticks out for me.

Here are the bands to vote on for who you think is the best band of this decade. 1. The White Stripes 2. Broken Social Scene 3. Franz Ferdinand 4. Deerhoof 5. Devendra Banhart 6. Muse 7. Arcade Fire 8. The Mars Volta 9. The Walkmen 10. TV On The Radio 1. massively overrated and a good bit shit 2. overrated around here but did put out maybe my favorite album of the decade. 3. great and catch too much shit. their second album was 50% zzzzz though. 4. absolute dreck 5. ugh 6. no real opinion 7. good album that hasn't aged well 8. utter shit 9. possibly the worst album of 2006 10. people give their first album too much shit. it's not really that much different than the new one. the YL EP is pure gold. Minus The Bear - don't know Animal Collective - feels was really good. Raising The Fawn - i assume this is a riley canadian thing Augie March - don't care British Sea Power - okay Rilo Kiley - meh Great Lake Swimmers - more canadia right? Russian Futurists - yeah they're pretty good Phoenix - great singles band, not exactly sure who's 'hyping' them Clinic - eh The Pleased - i don't even think this band exists Rogue Wave - sure why not Frog Eyes - nah Maritime - canadia Talib Kweli - backpack Longwave - awful second album, still love the crap out of most of their first one The Clientele - nice band The Sounds - no riley, no. boobies on an album cover fool you. interpol - yes bloc party - yes mmj - eh bts - 90s decemberists - no shins - pretty great for the most part. the strokes - yeah consistently good. they'd probably have my vote for this decade. |

Deerhoof is absolute dreck? I will have to argue that one with you big time and they are far better than fucking Cock Party. That band sucks.
I will agree with you on Frog Eyes though. I don't see what the big deal with that band is.

I don't click with Muse either, DED. But here's what I find works for me: Animal Collective Broken Social Scene My Morning Jacket Built to Spill The Decemberists TV On The Radio The Shins - seriously, you can't make a list without these guys. Interpol I can't really think of anyone else off the top of my head, although I know a bunch of bands I like but don't really register in the "best of" deal. This list is much more in line with my tastes. |

TV On The Radio I know this is a biased/personal list, but with the exception of a few, this list doesn't feel representative for me. Where are the Shins, the Strokes (love em or hate em, but you can't deny them their place on lists like this. They're the godfathers of indie fucks the world over), Interpol, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Modest Mouse, Architecture in Helsinki? I was really into Bows & Arrows when it came out, but then I kinda lost it with the Walkmen. |

My vote goes to the Strokes.
BSS I don't like, the Shins are losing it with each album they sell, Animal Collective - why? & Interpol though I'm a huge fan they were a little crap live.
