riley...I haven't listened to either yet...sort of stuck on Modest Mouse...Good News For People Who Like Bad News...
since I first put it on I've probably played it 5 times...so I suppose that gets the big tick...
also listened to Built To Spill...Keep It Like A Secret a couple of times and again loved that...
really this haul is going to take a while to absorb...but yeah I do really like that Modest Mouse...

I hear ya on the Mouse. I actually hit the point of needing to give it a rest I was playing it so often.

The Greater Wrong Of The Right is the best album released this year that I've listened to, so far. It has obviously been constructed to stand the Test of Time.

I will. You and Skvor, the first two people I met that like Skinny Puppy. I'll be drinking for both of you too, don't worry! ;D

Fuck. I refuse to do the Primus thing again and pass out from drinking and smoking. But I really wanna do both. O, the dilemmas stupid youth must face...

I'm swearing myself off new music purchases for at least a month. As if I hadn't spent enough money on music this month (new Loretta Lynn, new Juliana Hatfield, Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, etc), this weekend brought:
On vinyl -
Ramones - January 1978 NYC Ramones - picture disc, damned if I can remember the name
On CD - Joe Strummer & The Mescaleroes: Coma Girl UK CD #1 - with Coma Girl, Jimmy Cliff's The Harder They Come and Rudi, A Message to You Coma Girl UK CD #2 - with Coma Girl, live versions of Yalla Yalla and Blitzkrieg Bop
and, after swooning after it for months: Johnny Cash - Unearthed (5 disc boxset)

Three nice used buys at lunch, none of which I set out to buy.
I went looking for new stuff by Beastie Boys, PJ Harvey, and Matthew Good.
Came back with
Broken Social Scene - Feel Good Lost Pavement - Westing (by musket and sextant) Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks - Pig Lib

Picked up Switchfoots "Beautiful Letdown". I am liking it, the guys voice reminds me alot of Rufus Wainwright, they obviously have listened to alot of Live, IMO.

I'm hoping to pick up the new Magnetic Fields some time within the next couple of weeks... it's looking good! Hopefully will see my way clear to buy it... my payroll officer certainly has been making me live on the edge a bit more than normal lately...

Had a good day at the Record Store!
Found two previous albums by a band i recently discovered this, that being the very impressive Epicure, a very much up and coming Australian act, i really hope they continue on to become something even more impressive than what they already are...
from hearing the first four tracks of this earlier release of their's titled "Airmail" it sounds like they have the makings of a great band, these songs are truly good, and as a previous album to one I love, this is exceeding my expectations...
I often find myself underwhelmed when I buy back catalogue of bands... but not this time, hell no! I'm loving this stuff!
