babba ganoush. got a free eggplant and roasted two cloves of garlic along with it in some olive oil... blended it...added some lemon juice, salt, pepper, and half and half (for lack of a little cream). i guess it's not totally authentic, but it's what i could do with what i had on hand, and it was soooo good. alas, my co-workers ate the rest, so i don't get to bring any home for thorn. i love eggplant.

and speaking of food, i'm no vegan, but i'm dying to make vegan chocolate mousse again. (i've been trying out all varieties of dark chocolate mousse recipes...) anyway, the ratios go something like this:
1 avacado 1/2 cup honey or agave nectar 1/2 cup dark cocoa powder
(keep doubling for more servings, but that amount ^ does 2-3 people quite well, as it's so rich, and the avacado oils pick up the cocoa beautifully.... so jungle nummy...)

Good show everyone!
Sissy - you seem to eat simply yet at the same time new and exciting stuff.
Ayinger - love the pictures and everything looked great except for that stove top in the meat pie picture. Were you drunk or what? LOL!

I mean what can you expect from someone who prepares Hamburger Helper in his own kitchen? ;D And the beef broccoli & onion meal looks absolutely delicious. Mouth watering.

You cannot cook for "real" without your stovetop getting a bit messy.

You cannot cook for "real" without your stovetop getting a bit messy. ah, but when that bit messy stays there for 2 or 3 meals, THEN it's more of a problem! not that I ever have that sort of problem...nosirrreeebob,,,not me,,,,,NEvER eVEr eVEr at my place...nope....A funny story behind that pic of the Meat Pie. I'd made the dish the other week however the photo is one from last year and was taken at my then apartment and not the house I've since purchased. So I had recently put the photo on another website and the girl who had sold me the house sent me a comment of "OMG --- THE STOVE!!!" I had to quickly reply and let her know that it was my old place and I hadn't mired up her old applicance. And not only is she a neat-freak but a vegetarian to boot, so the whole issue was REALLY grossing her out! I do admire you folks who keep a clean ship tho' --- I'm the only person here and sadly tend to do my dishes about when I'm running out of plates & eating utensils.....
