I don't smoke many cigarettes, but I smoke left handed cigarettes (wink, wink) probably every other day. Thats not *gasp* mary juana you're referring to? Yea, I'm pretty open about my use of it....Not trying to brag, or promote any use of it, just trying to desensitize people a bit w/ it, that's all. I typically keep it to myself, do it in the privacy of my home, and never pressure anyone to do it; but if they want to join me they're more than welcome.... I was actually thinking of joining NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws). Their headquarters are in DC; it's kinda weird considering how uptight this town can be.

I think I'll crack a nice bottle of white to go w dinner. I'm new w/ this wine thing (I have Sideways to thank) anyway what are some good whites? I really like reds, my favorite so far being Zinfandels and Pinot Noirs. I just can't seem to get a taste for white though; I was thinking of going on a binge this summer w/ them...

The best white wine, IMO, is Gewurztraminer.

The best white wine, IMO, is Gewurztraminer. Rocky, you've got damn fine taste. That particular German specialty is indeed the best white wine in my experience as well.

Am thinking about a basset hound. Picked up a green sheet paper to look at what pup's are available: Parents had basset's for years...great temperment, can be fun to play with but not the brightest cur on the block (can't think of ONE that ever fetched...hell, my CAT does that constantly). Beware that they DO get 'hound odor' too esp. when they get older... -------------------- gawd,,,,wish I could still afford wine...even a cheap box one would do....

Not a big fan myself of white wine from the Alsace region ...
Too fruity for my taste !
Although Gewurztraminer wines go well with asian cuisine(sweet & sour) and sushis !!
I'm more of an Italian guy when it comes to white wine !!

The best white wine, IMO, is Gewurztraminer. Thanks for the advise. I've gotten a load of wine basics from this site: www.wineintro.com/types/I happen to love spicy food, and they say this is a good compliment for foods like that. I haven't compared and contrasted white wines the way I have reds. Pretty much every type of red, even merlot, I've liked; zinfandel is still my favorite (but I'm not crazy about white zins though).

zin's I used to keep on hand were a St. Francis "old vines" and J Lohr; both Cali's and under 20 bucks. Have you tried syrah's at all? Folie a Deux had a fair one. Oh! and Foppiano did up a Petie Sirah that I found quite tasty too!
