Momma's got a squeezebox, Daddy never sleeps at night!
Nothing nerdy about zydeco! But if bubbles start appearing when you play, you might be a nerd. A-one, anna a-two...

Jammed out myself to Buckwheat Zydeco just last night as he pulled into the Brewing Company for a show. Don't know nuthin' about bubbles floatin' around but them folks sure was hitting the dance floor! Just wished he would have stretched out more on his rendition of "Hey Joe".......

Why is he pointing toward your wristband, Don? Does he want you to buy him a frosty beverage?

hey, joe, where ya goin with that gun in your hand? Yeah...he does up an absolute killer version of it with BOTH accordian and guitar just nailin' it to the wall! Think I've got like a 9 minute copy of it. You know, my boss was at the show too and also got his picture taken and Buck was doing the same pointing deal with him too.

alright.... the idea came from this board, but this is what i'm going to do tonight:
1....i'll make creepy bass noises while i stare suspiciously at the audience.... 2... this will build into part two, where i'll begin playing some dark sad tango-esque music... i'll begin with the bass, and after a bar or two add the keys... throughout this piece, i will make dramatic expressions of longing and even fake some tears... it will all be very exaggerated....i'll soak in the mock sorrow of my music....i'll begin singing absurd lyrics like "mollusks in the dawn waiting for the sun" and "be careful about ressurecting mermaids..," ultimately crying "i'm soooo happy" like it's the worst thing in the world. 3... i'll wind down the sad stuff and sobbing, slamming into the keys.... 4.... out of nowhere, i'll suddenly begin playing a ridiculously nerdy happy german ski song polka thing with an absurd grin on my face... 5....i'll finish with some creep out circus music....and place my accordion on the ground. 6...i'll be wearing a white bib. my friend chaz? lurking clandestine in the audience will walk up to the stage and point a gun at me.... i'll cry out "hey joe, where ya goin with that gun in your hand?" he'll shoot me. i'll pull the rip cord on the blood pack beneath my bib and bleed all over...and bleed from my mouth... 7... i'll giggle sweetly and flit down from the stage.
it will all be very silly and bizarre.
to overcome stagefright at the urban lounge, i'm going to try and picture everyone in the audience (at least those i don't know) as various characters from john waters' movies. yup. that's it.

Yeah, best of luck with that, sisyphus. I hope you get a friendly crowd. I think you'll need it! I like the lyrics, though.

i lucked out and got a VERY friendly crowd, a small percentage of whom were a bunch o friends that came to "support" me.... people seemed to like it, though. yay. i got really nervous part way through though, but some people told me afterwards that they thought it was all part of the show, and were surprised to hear from me that i had gotten so nervous. lol.
