Now about Jesus's so called "copying" of earlier philosophies. This is a famous argument that is always presented. But in fact every single thing he taught was indeed from the old testament, which predates most of that so called philosophy. The oral tradition was there long ago, the actual writing down of the text came into being aound 1000 B.C. then the old testament was compiled after the Babylonian Captivity.
I do know that the Moabite stone dates to about 865 B.C. It is a good example of the Hebrew-Phoenician characters used at the time. Moab was the son of Lot.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Tel Dan Stela. It has been dated between the 7th and 9th century B.C. as well. Both the Moabite Stela and the Tel Dan Stela are written accounts of the wars with the King of Israel.

And when you say "the people I live with" does that mean your family? Your friends? Mankind as a whole?
Does it really matter ... ??
When you embrace Ecology, you give your wallet a brake and the planet also(in a small way)profits ...
When you give blood, you have no idea who exactly will receive that gift but you know someone, somewhere will benefit ...
When you try to better yourselves or try to teach your kids how to be better persons, you do make the world a better place ...
And those small individual - personal gestures are all you can do and are all that really matters

And when you quote articles by someone that thinks a Christian or any other person of faith has a brain disorder...is this one of those small little personal gestures?

Phil, if someone invites you over for dinner and you don't like their food, do you take the plate and throw the food in the floor, stomp all over it then proceed to tell them you think their cooking is shit?

Damn now I am ready for some Biblical history. How about Homer? His Iliad, interesting work indeed. He refers to some of the Greeks as Danaans. Do you know who the Danaans were? They were from one of the 12 tribes of Israel, the tribe of Dan. How about the country of Denmark? Or should I say Danmark like at this website? www.visitdenmark.com/

Despite the vast number of religions, nearly everyone in the world believes in the same things: the existence of a soul, an afterlife, miracles, and the divine creation of the universe. Recently psychologists doing research on the minds of infants have discovered two related facts that may account for this phenomenon. One: human beings come into the world with a predisposition to believe in supernatural phenomena. And two: this predisposition is an incidental by-product of cognitive functioning gone awry. Which leads to the question ...

Each human has inside of him/her the capacity to think (conscience), to learn (intellect), to better himself and the world we live in ... Now I don't know if we got a soul and if we do, how it got there... After all, only those who believe in an Afterlife need a soul Like you cannot prove that there is a God and I cannot prove that there isn't ... The thing is that I do not care if there is a God or not ... What I do care about is how to become a better person for myself and the people I live with and how I can(in my small insignificant way)leave this earth a better place than when I came in ... Proof renders faith meaningless. Faith pleases God. I desire no proof other than the fact that I am here and everything else is here and it didn't just pop into existance out of nothing, and I'm sure you'd point out that that's no proof at all. Fine. I know that somewhere, somehow I have been given faith. I can't deny this faith...even when I denied God I had this mustard seed of faith within me that whispered, "You're only fooling yourself". I couldn't get rid of this faith even if I wanted to. It was not of my own construction. I did not one day decide that I was going to have faith. No, I cannot prove to you that God exists. But I need no proof. He put this faith in my heart. I know this like I know my own name. There's nowhere else it could have come from. That is what convinces me that He is real. And that's why nothing you could say will convince me otherwise. Do you think I haven't already tried to believe all the anti-religious points you bring up (after all, I called myself a secular humanist and denied God for 15 years)? Even the ones that make some sense I cannot accept, because the faith in me is stronger than logic. The Bible says I am saved by grace through faith. And this faith is something that I asked God for when I was 16 years old praying in a tabernacle pew in the sweltering heat of the Falls Creek Baptist Assembly youth camp. Several years later I fell away from the Lord, and I have been known to refer to the impetus of that turning away as having "lost my faith"...but I now realize that I never lost it...I just chose to live as if I didn't have it, to ignore it, to downplay it. Looking back on those days I can honestly say that it was ALWAYS there. The main difference between you and I is that, in your own words, you do not care if there is a God or not. I don't know what to tell you. If there's no God, then eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die, and that death is final. Maybe you can accept that...fine...but this world is too cruel to too many of it's citizens for that to be "okay" in my books. If there is no God then life is not worth living, IMO. If I really believed that this is all there is, I'd be long dead and in the grave from my own hand. Such is the curse of depression. You are not alone in caring about becoming a better person, wanting to leave the world a better place than when you got here. I am the same way, but I wasn't until the love of Jesus Christ came into my life.

And did you read the whole thing ... ??
And did you take the time to think about it ... ??
Even if you don't agree, you could ... like ... maybe ... learn something ... ??
Oh ! You're the one who don't believe in psychology ... Right ??
And sociology ... And philosophy ...
Anything that has to do with the study of human behaviours ... Right ??

Phil, that is the most retarded thing I have ever heard. I would really love to know EXACTLY where this research came from and how they determined this.
So there, I just stomped on your food.

Anyway, back to Homer's Greek Danaans. In the Bible Dan was constantly trying to dominate Judah....I guess some things just never change.....
aka Greek Philosophy and the constant praise of the Greek's inventing just about every damn thing on earth in our history books.

Phil, I have a few questions to ask you concerning the Bible:
Have you read the whole thing ... ??
And did you take the time to think about it ... ??
Even if you don't agree, you could ... like ... maybe ... learn something ... ??
