I disliked RHCP all through their career, even before they were this huge money-grubbing machine. I like about half of By the Way. The band are not for me.
Is that okay with everyone?

Here's an idea! Let's talk about this instead:
Radiohead. Wankers or not. If yes, is this a good thing or not?
Discuss.

Thom has clearly done far too much wanking.

What's wrong with wanking? Didn't hurt Barbara Cartland.....

Some Sonic Youth album news, from Pitchfork:
First and foremost is a new album: according to the band's official website, recording is currently taking place at Sear Sound in New York City, where the SY albums Sister and Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star, as well as Thurston Moore's solo pop effort, Psychic Hearts, were created. Potential song titles include "Pink Steam", "Do You Believe in Rapture?", "Or", and "Sleepin Around". The album will be out "sometime in 2006."
Back in October, guitarist Lee Ranaldo spoke about the forthcoming album to Billboard.com. "Some of it seems to be an extension of the last couple of records, but some hearkens forward into territory and also back to earlier, more dissonant and atonal stuff we've done," he said. "There's definitely some rocking songs and also some sound piece-y kind of things that are pretty interesting as well."

The story was that first a new Breeders-album was about to come out. 4AD are pretty hush-hush about it at this stage. Got the new Robert Pollard at home tonight...at first listen...all over the place but with really nice passages. Have got to listen more but I'm now engrossed in that Kraftwerk box set... Also look forward to a new Massive Attack! Elvis Costello's staying at a hotel really close by our shop- a source close by says he might coto our shop soon as he loves shopping for CDs....

Hey! Awesome! It wouldn't be every day your shop gets a visit from Elvis (Costello) himself!
Better than a visit from Peter Costello... (cue Australian political in - joke alarm...)

Apparently, according to Mojo, the new Morrissey album in '06 will be incredible. Not so sure I believe that, but Ennio Morricone was working in the same Italian studio and dropped in to arrange a whole string section on one of Mozzer's tracks, so I predict at least one killer song.

Heard the new Ashcroft. It's pretty good. I'll be getting a copy soon enough, hopefully, and I'll spread the wealth.

I'm also hearing lots of hype about the Guillemots and the Spinto Band. Anyone heard these?
