if the majority of the people here want many smaller threads concerning singular issues, i don't see what your problem is. if you don't feel like dealing with it in that matter, set up a main board sticky and only look at that one while ignoring the others. it's not rocket science.

I don't think you can really declare anything about a majority at this point. There is a large contingent that does not even post during the day.

Referring to the original thread - yes, I did that. See the uproar? Relocating and deleting - yeah, that doesn't elicit much of a response either. Your solutions are good ones - now just sell them to the rest of the group. I find that a tad ironic, seeing as how noone attempted to sell YOUR solution to the rest of the group. You just implemented it and ran wild. Forgive the combative nature of this post. I'm a bit miffed at the hypocrisy.

okay, i'll just assume that you missed the first word of my post.
assuming (stretch) that the majority of posters want one big ce board, what's the harm in letting the minority still discuss in smaller posts. you and your majority can stick to one big thread. everyone else can make smaller threads. maybe the minority will tire of making smaller threads and go back to the old RS ways.... or maybe the majority will discover they enjoy posting in smaller threads.
either way it seems like this way should make both sides happy. and i'd imagine that that's what everyone would want.

It's a bit hypocritical, don't you think, to do such bidding (with relish no doubt) and then say "it's not MY solution"? As if you would have even accepted moderator responsibilities if you hadn't thought the "solution" was the appropriate one. Sheesh.

I noticed that the Open Forum board in the Insect Lounge has been locked.
I think it's time I vacated this party.
Don't worry...I won't let the door hit my ass on the way out.
Goodbye.

It's not now...but it was. I don't know what happened. Seriously, it was locked, and then I went to close down the Lounge and after I did that it was unlocked... At any rate, I still need to get away from this place. The exchange of PMs between Chrisfan and myself today have pretty much verified my suspicion that I don't think I'll be able to tolerate her brand of board moderation.
Toodles.

You'll have to do what you think is best, Jac. There are lots of other boards here - you never posted much at CE anyway. I never locked the Open Forum at your board - perhaps you were at CE? I didn't lock it down at CE either, but Chris was doing what she thought best at the time. Just putting the sticky on CE might do the trick. All of us mods are still trying to get things sorted out. I hope you'll stick around (jeez, could you imagine me saying that a year ago?) Really, Jac.

For your information:
As of 6:11 PM, we have not gotten an answer as to why closing the "Shin for CE moderator" board was necessary, beyond the lack of tidiness in the Current Events topic. Due to lack of tidiness, we closed a thread that was not hurting anyone, and where many CE regulars (as well as a few strays) had made at least made one post.
I don't want to be crass, and I realize that this is really just a message board, but there are a couple of things I want to call the people who are respoonsible for this, if only because, as of the end of Comic Events, people had been doing better about getting along, little animosity between posters was displayed, and those of us who were posting in the "Shin Moderator" board were, generally speaking, enjoying a bit of lighthearted fun at the expense of noone. This lock down spree has done nothing to alleviate the problems Chrisfan Events has had since, well, at least since I've been there.

Of course, to fix this is gonna require A) mutual respect from both sides, B) an immense effort to lighten up and C) a discussion on how best to proceed. My only suggestion would be for Chrisfan to return moderator powers to start. As such a polarizing figure, Chrisfan, you must realize that having Mod powers over the CE boards only builds the animosity you may have been trying to curtail.

I'd be happy to take those mod powers off CF's hands.
Come on. Trust Shin Guevara. I look like Gael Garcia Bernal! LL Cool Che (Ladies love cool Che).
How can you go wrong?

Ken, I can't answer as to why the thread was locked, because I did not lock it. As to my "returning" the moderating to Strat ... Please understand that as the administrator, Strat is a moderator over EVERY board. He is the only one who has the ability to lock, unlock, delete, modify, etc on every board. There is nothing to return to him, because he has lost nothing. I did not ask to be a moderator of CE. He asked me if I would, and I said yes. If he decides he doesn't want me to be, I assume he will revoke the power just as he gave it. But rest assured, he still has all of the power on CE that he always has.
