Good luck, Chris. Glad to see you guys checking in with the "other side"! I'm trying, but it appears that im just going to be ripped away from Al Franken before he ever gets to me. I STILL can't get it to connect ... and I can't figure out how to explain to my IT department that I need my computer fixed because I'm having trouble surfing the web, and listening to things that are totally unrelated to my job.

Wish I could help. I just clicked "listen live", picked "windows media" and it popped right up. Do you have WMP or Real Player?

I have both, and neither will connect. That's why I'm thinking my company blocks something that is keeping it from connecting. Although I can listen to Sean Hannity via the web, so who knows? I'll keep on trying. Now, I'm just determined to make it work.

Actually, I think I'd have to say that checking out the "other side" has solidified my thinking and reasoning behind my beliefs FAR more than listening to anyone who I agree with has. I think it's easier to figure out why you think what you do when you hear something you don't agree with, and can pick apart WHY you don't agree.

I listen to/read left wing people all the time. It's pretty myopic to only listen to people that have the same POV that you do.

How much do you think it would piss Al Franken off if he started getting letters that said "Dear Al, I listen to your show all the time and I love it. I want to thank you for doing what you're doing. You make me a better conservative"

I have a random thought, and I'm going to share it out loud ...
There's all this criticism going around about the appointment of Condi Rice to Sec of State, and how she's just someone who will agree with the president. With that is coming all of this "doesn't ANY president appoint people who will carry out their policies?" response, but I'm not going there. Instead, I have to ask the critics -- since most of them have maintained for so long that Bush is so stupid and so clueless about the world outside the US -- what is Bush's world view? What are his beliefs that Rice is just falling in line with? They maintain that Bush didn't know enough about the world to really have a view of how things should be, but now they're saying that Rice is just his yes woman. Seems to me you can't have it both ways.

What if one were to argue that Bush may be calling the plays but Cheney or Rove wrote the playbook?

How come strat has a bigger, higher res flag avatar than I do? That hardly seems fair.
