Frying a whole large turkey seems like fun ...
Burning down the house in the process too !!

We typically fry them outside, Phil. And after you eat a big juicy fried turkey, all injected with seasoning, you probably won't want to go back to baking the things anytime soon. It's way quicker, way tastier.
Turducken is pretty delicious, but I image it's a bitch to do all that sewing up.
When is this dinner? I'm about to log off for the night, so if this board isn't here tomorrow, take it to the diner, yeah.

Oh, its not for a week and a half. Phil is posting some delicious-sounding marinades & sauces over on the diner.
Turducken is no myth. It gave me heartburn. And so much protein.

I would think so ... ;D
But I've seen some idiots on TV putting a cold wet bird in the large frying pot full of boiling oil that was SITTING ON THE DECK RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOUSE that quickly became engulfed in flames ... LoLoLoL !!

Oh yeah ! They have that large pot sitting on a burner connected to a gas tank and they put the bird in a basket or some kind of contraption and lower it in the hot oil ... Problem is ... If the bird is too cold, wet or if there is too much oil, lots of interesting things can happen ... Even more so if you do this right next to your home !!

Never heard of anyone incompetent enough to set the thing on fire...I always figured it a fairly safe process, I mean, you've gotta follow some common sense rules, but it's the same principle as boiling crawfish, really. Leave it to somebody to fuck it up, though. Maybe some things were just meant to stay in the swamps.

Luke -- Watch the news around Thanksgiving ... there's always some folks who set their homes on fire while deep frying their turkey. There's usually beer and trailer parks involved, if I remember right ...

No worries about me deleting the thread. Why delete something that illustrates the true character of so many people?

Indeed, I never knew so many had an interest in frying turkey.
