Have you looked at the current RS boards Chrisfan? Yeah, there are things here that might not be perfect, but the last time I looked over there, it was almost impossible to find anything resembling intelligent discourse, on any subject. At least here, there's plenty of actual discussion taking place. Over there, it's almost nothing but trolls and disgusting posts. If RS.com had been like that back in '98 ... well, I'd have saved myself a lot of time on the internet, as I wouldn't have bothered signing up, much less posting ... and posting ... and posting ... Ken, I can only speak for the boards where I post. The one I used to enjoy the most has become a cesspool of nothing useful over the past 6 months. A few punks decided to have fun fucking it up, and they've been allowed to succeed. Therefore, I don't think it's all that unfair to pat ourselves on the back for the "wonderful" little "community" we have around here. It's bullshit. People decided to fuck it up, and they wre allowed to succeed. But hey, that's what the gruop wanted, so who am I to question it? |

The pure malice that comes off those RS-boards is vile. Mean. It's even beyond the trash the old RS-boards coughed up on occasion.
As much as you want to make a point about some of the discussions around here and the way they've been handled, I cannot agree with your comparison to a board where professional trolls are simply out there to malicious slander others. At least this community deserves that bit of respect even though we are not perfect ourselves.

If these boards are as bad as you seem to think they are, then you are as much to blame as anyone else. Now please, just let it go. I'm not interested in flame wars with you, and I did my best to diffuse it before it got out of hand yesterday, and unfortunately failed, but at this point I don't know what else to do other than to beg you to please, please do your best to get over it, or at least keep it to yourself, because I really do not care to talk about it anymore. |

Rocky, if you review, you'll discover that I did not say a single thing to you that was not a response to your saying something to me. My "lashing out" was merely a response to you. If you don't want me to talk to you, there's a very easy way to accomplish that - don't insult me. Honestly, what exactly is it that makes you think you can insult people and be deserving of no response whatsoever?
In my previous post, I was not "keeping anything going". I was merely acknowleging the people who solidified my decision to leave. Given that you've been so irritated by me for the past several weeks due to the premonition you had that I'd be rude in posts for a day after putting up with Thorn SERIOUSLY going over the line, I'd think you'd be quite happy about that.

I didn't insult you until I got several PMs that were flat out mean and way overboard. The thing that I said that pissed you off was that I didn't get the impression that you were thinking about Thorn's comments before responding to them. That was it. That was what caused you to completely flip out on me. And yeah, I expected a response, but I didn't expect the heated response I got. You didn't get upset at me for insulting you, you got angry at me for not insulting Thorn.
Anyway, this is the last post of yours I'm going to respond to on this issue. Yeah, I know I said that yesterday too, but I'm serious this time. Unless you can at least pretend to get over it, then you're dead to me, because its not worth my time or efforts to continue this absurdity. I'll be happy to continue to have civil discussions with you in regards to whatever topics come up, but not this one, because you are well beyond reason anymore, and some of the PMs you sent me were way beyond anything I have ever said to you or to anyone on these boards.
Either get over it or leave me the fuck alone. Seriously, this is beyond ridiculous.

Are you applying your prescription to yourself? Were you really taking into consideration what I said? A day after Thorn told me that what I really needed was a good clit rubdown, among other things, you were questioning why I was not taking him seriously. When I explained to you why I was not taking him seriously ... did you really consider what I was saying? If not, then I ask why you're telling me to do something you don't do yourself. If you did consider that, and chose to take such issue with me anyway ... well then I stand behind my asessment of your character.
Even in whathe was saying Rocky ... whatexactly is wrong in being firm in your beliefs? Aren't you? Isn't Mary? Isn't Drum? Why is it appropriate to take me to task for being firm in what I believe, but not the rest of you? It's only okay to be firm if you're liberal? Bullshit.

Why is it so hard just to step away from inflammatory comment and having to have the last word in constantly?
This does not only apply to Chrisfan but also to Thorn, shin...hell, even me.
The longer these stretches of abuse go on, the worse they become.
