Ah, well it's strange, because depending on how you go in, you can wind up on the non-functioning boards that they closed the last time. That happened to me, though I don't recall just how I ended up there. I recognized some of the threads, and it said they were under maintenance, etc. So I don't know for sure. But I've peeked in periodically and they have been up when I have. Sad, I guess I keep hoping, but nobody will play ball there hardly. I think it really is a fucntion of "fool me once shame on you" and people being pissed off at RS. Those of us who were there remember just what a monster it was in its day. It was on the cusp of 'the day of message boards' and everybody seemed to be there, from all over the world. They really blew a big play. Then blogs killed the message board (along with facebook, myspace, et al). There is a song in there, I'm sure... Ahhh, yes, who could forget those boom days of RS.com! Where nearly every login there was something new and interesting to read about, some differing opinion offered, some new music recommended... I miss those days! Of course it then somewhat declined into a spammer's retreat, and as colloquially kown in Australia.... a "dogs breakfast"
You'll have to excuse my old fart stance here, but I really can't get into facebook and myspace, try as I might, it just seems, I dunno, too much for me - I'd rather just hop between forums on a message board site, hang out, talk shit, stuff like that - my myspace is untouched from the day I created it, because i just can't muster the interest... or maybe time is a factor... hmmmmmm... ponderous...

I've never been to Facebook and only a couple of times on Myspace ...
The only message board I'm part of is here.
I read a shitload of newspapers on line though ... !!

I've never found a forum like the old RS boards. I miss them terribly.
