So the Italians apparently sent FIFA the video footage showing Frings throwing a punch after the Argentina game. And now Frings is suspended for the next match.
Scummy fucking Italians. I hope Germany throttles them.

That's funny though, because Frings was the most outspoken player after the fracas, telling the press that the Argies were bad losers and that he hoped their players get a long ban.
Plus, Frings is the biggest diver in the German squad. ;D

^^^Kicked off the PC. Bwah ha ha.
Only half an eye on this for me - same will be the case tomorrow - whoever decided to put final assessments in the final week of the World Cup seriously BLOWS!
I'm kind of neutral - though favouring the Italians as it is hanging offence to support the Germans. 2 mins in and I see the theatrics have started already...

I'd rather see the Germans win because I've got a German stock processor work for me. At least one person I know should be happy with the outcome of this lottery.

The only solace I find in this result is that the Americans completely had the run of play against an eventual WC finalist and would have won that game if not for some rather unlucky calls.

i told you Italia would pull through.
call me stubborn, but i had a feeling that the Italians were just too fucking determined this year to do anything BUT get to the finals.
i think it's safe to say they've won this one.
Forza!

Forza! They've had a lot of things go their way so far that weren't in their control. And they're still the most despicable team to watch by far.

(for me, that honour goes to England in this World Cup) anyway, the Italians played beautiful soccer in the Germany match. i should note, though, that it probably has more to do with Germany than Italy. The two BEST games of the cup for me, the ones i'll remember 4 years from now and beyond were Germany vs Argentina and Germany vs Italy.

(oops, unless you meant that they were the most outright cheaters in the Cup, Ndy. in which case you're right.)
