lol, now that's funny. man does anybody remember a "Pearl Cream" commercial back in the late 80's?? except the chinese lady kept calling it "peh cweam" in drawn-out soothing tones. pehhhhh cweam.... um. if i have any say in the house where i'm watching tv (i don't have cable at home) all commercial breaks are muted. why complain about stupid commercials when you can just mute and ignore instead? y'all secretly love commercials.

Commercials are one of the things I love about TiVo. Most of the shows that I watch regularly, I TiVo and skip the commercials. But I like to have the TV on when I'm doing other things around the house, sometimes anyway. And that's when I hear commercials.
I haven't seen it yet, but Kinky Friedman is running an ad for governor where he says "money will buy you a dog, but it takes love to make his tail wag." I think I just may vote for the Kinkster. As his campaign slogan says, "why the hell not?"

Now I wish I lived in Texas. Maybe you can throw a vote in there on my behalf too, Ken? "Vote early and often", I always say!

I saw a commercial last night for "KY Sensual Mist". It was all soft and romantic and they were wielding the bottle like it was an expensive perfume.
"Sensual mist"? Really?!? Now they're trying to make lube pretty and romantic? Just suck it up and use the good old-fashioned goopy stuff, goddamnit.
I've also been seeing an alarming number of commercials about HPV. Granted, I see many of them during "Porn Valley" on Showcase, and I guess that seems like a pretty good fit... but then I see them during the evening news and Seinfeld and stuff. Strange.

I've always loved how commercials for fixing "erectile dysfunction" is "E.D. this", "E.D. that", but women's commercials have no problem going into graphic, gory detail about itching and burning, stink, blood, you name it.
Oh, and how I've never once seen a commercial for a cleaning product featuring a man. Always a woman. I'm not a feminist, but it does piss me off, especially since I hate cleaning so much.

OMG he looks like a plastic mannequin come to life!
Creepy.
Right now I’m hating “get your fash-on". I think it’s either Old Navy or Target but shit it’s BAD!

New contender for Most Annoying Commercial. It's the one from Macy's using the Beatles' "From Me To You"...only you wouldn't recognize it by the music...the chord sequence is all wrong and it's all heavy and shit. Even worse than the monotone "I Walk the Line" commercial that drove me batty a couple of weeks ago. Just terrible.
I'm sick and tired of the CarMart commercial with the skateboarding granny.
On the other hand, I like the Sonic commercials with the two buddies sitting in the car. It took a little while for that campaign to grow on me, but I look forward to new ones now. The new ones, which I'll call "Screamy" and "Breakfeast" are hilarious. I can see how some folks might find them annoying, but for some reason they penetrated my annoyance shield and I can't wait for some new ones to come along.

Funny how many Cash songs began popping up in commercials after that movie took off...

The worst commercial is the "This is our country" series of shlock put out by Chevy.

My disdain for John Mellencamp puts me in your camp, Rocky...I hate those "My Country" spots, too. But just wait till you see this Macy's spot. You're gonna gag.

I finally saw one of the My Country spots, and it couldn't end fast enough. I generally like Mellenhead, but this was cringe-inducing.
What song do they use in the Macy's ad?

Oh never mind, I just reread your last posts, JAC. I haven't seen that yet, but I'm not looking forward to it ... Thank god for TiVo.
