Well, I was sorta thinking this would be a thread for people to put pics they actually took themselves. Of course, we can always start more threads - "favorite photographers' works," "my wedding," etc.

I don't see why not. Yeah, it is a bit of a pain in the ass to have to upload them and link them. Yahoo and MSN offer free photo albums, so that's an option. Once you upload them, you can do the right-click/properties/cut and paste url thing. You want to make sure it's not protected or the link won't work, though. Most ISPs also provide some free webspace you can use. Tripod offers free webspace, too.

Do you know anyone who's been able to link a yahoo! photo to this place, strat? I tried a million different ways around it, and there was no way to get my yahoo links to show up around here.

I don't know of any specifically, luke, but it should work. But the site/album can't be member protected, or the link won't work. I know that's the case with MSN. The site has to be openly accesible. Say, you aren't trying to put up some of them girlie pictures, are ya? I suppose we could start a thread for that....

I think Yahoo must be member protected, because I had the same problem.

I think those are options you can select for your Yahoo photo album. You should be able to go into your photo album settings and change your privacy options. Some may want to keep their album private - in that case, I would start a new one under a new photo album name, or at Geocities (using your yahoo ID, go to the file manager) or somewhere else that's not protected, and only upload the photos you wish to share. Then you just copy and paste the url, as always.

Ah! Here's a good solution! In fact, I'm going to send out a mass message about it. www.photodump.com/

I'll have to look into that, Howe - it's supposed to be very reliable, but I must confess I didn't upload and link to it. I just joined and looked around.

Here, try this one (it works for me): imagetown.net1/ click 'browse' 2/select photo off your harddrive 3/click 'upload' 4/it should give you a new URL addy to use That's it. Any pics bigger than 1.0 Meg won't work. Hope that does it 4 U
