Of course it's pop schtick! But for the first time, in, oh, about ten years, pop schtick kicks ass again.

well, certainly they sound absolutely NOTHING but puddle of mudd, but PoM is a gimmick (as in the whole rip off nirvana/aliceinchains routine and "i love the way you smack my ass") and that killers song sent me that vibe (kinda like what i got from the hives' "hate to say i told you so" and most songs by the vines).

The hives and the vines are just horrible. But puddle of mudd make Bush look like the genuine, original, most inventive grunge article. Worst band in existence? Possibly, though Jet give 'em a run for their money.

"The hives and the vines are just horrible."
the hives new album is okay... i gave it a 3/5 or something like that, i think. but i only listened to it once and never again. that guy needs to stop yelling. as far as the vines go, their first album is mediocre, and the new one makes me want to... uhh, do something bad. really bland and boring.
"But puddle of mudd make Bush look like the genuine, original, most inventive grunge article."
ehh... i dunno about that example, but sixteen stone was indeed quite the ripoff (though original in some regards). i usually put the unoriginal grunge blame on silverchair... but they were kids, so i guess i can give them a break (plus i heard they improved).
"Worst band in existence? Possibly, though Jet give 'em a run for their money."
i'd go with dashboard confessional, but that's just me. as far as jet goes, they're funny. plagiarists, though.
*is sick of acting doom and gloom... enough bashing bands!*

Oh, fuck me, Proud, I forgot Dashboard. But hey, I only had a couple of minutes. Knock Grim Reaper off the list. At least they're funny.

Okay, so knock Green Day off, too.
No, fuck that, Billy Joel can handle twelfth place. Green Day stays.

eh, i'll give you most of them.
yes
1. Creed (people say their first record rules. i think they always blew.) 2. Limp Bizkit (what it LOOK LIKE? what it look like, baybah!?) 4. Puddle of Mudd ("i'm always afraid"... of hearing PoM on the radio) 5. Shinedown (i wish this guy WOULD stare down the barrel of a 45.) 6. Kid Rock (he mixes the punk rock with the hip hop and takes it higher than a tree top!) 8. Papa Roach (radio stations are 'getting away with murder' by making us listen to their new single.)
no
9. Green Day (as always, i'm standing up for them. i don't like "longview" and at least half of dookie, but i like their recent stuff.)
can give or take
10. Grim Reaper (never heard of them.) 8. Jet (they're hilarious. inadvertantly.) 7. Billy Joel (don't know enough.) 3. Staind (i like break the cycle a bit, as repetitive as it gets. 14 shades is kinda disappointing, though. the second half is kinda tortorous to listen to.)

Well maybe since it took 12-14 years for me to love 80s pop schtick, when I'm in my mid-thirties and they're being played on the radio as vintage schtick maybe I'll look back on FF and The Killers and love them.
Probably, because music by that time will no doubt suck way, way worse than Puddle of Crap and I'll be thankful for a little respectable '04 pop.

well, i'll moan about stuff i find bad anyway.
top 10 worst bands/"artists" i can think of, without counting stuff that's TOO obvious...
whoever sang "betty davis eyes" (cigarette voice.) saves the day (bad emo.) dashboard confessional (worse emo.) van halen (please don't kill me) dead eye dick (got a new age girl! tell us what she's like!) slipknot (BREUAHHKKK!! YOU'RE 666 bahbahabh 555) the verve pipe (one song that's close to decent) poison (unskinny bop bop bop bop) the used (mainstream forgot 'em before they could even get big) silverchair (they should've drank the water.)

That reminds me, I heard the following line on Kerrang Radio's news round-up this morning:-
"A big shock at last night's annual Kerrang awards when Slipknot failed to take home a gong in any category".

haha, that's a good one. don't they have a trillion drummers or something? you'd think one of them would have an ounce of talent...
i really should sell off some of the awful albums i have, but i dunno what to do with 'em. i've got frogstomp, lucy (candlebox's second album... the first is actually okay, though nothing i'd buy again), cheap trick's '97 selftitled...
