Not playing anything as yet, but i think I'm going to get stuck into some Tool and Pearl Jam tonight... two bands I haven't given enough time to lately!

Tool and Pearl Jam were both as enjoyable as I remembered!!! Lateralus is still a great thing to listen to as a complete album, just to get lost in and stretch out into the concepts of the lyrics, and the intensity of the music.
Yield is still one of my favourite Pearl Jam albums, so many diverse sounds on it, and a more poignant side to the band... still makes for bloody great listening!
Finishing my night's listening with something more sedate, but absolutely brilliant and evocative...
Live at the National Theatre - My Friend the Chocolate Cake.

Strange to see Slipknot and Nick Drake so close together in the same post! But hey, that's what I like about you, Thorny. You've got such diverse tastes! Now Playing: Krishna Das Breath Of The HeartProduced by Rick Rubin, this is one of the most modern-sounding renderings of Hindu devotional chant I've ever heard. Very exotic.

Just put on Fleetwood Mac's The Dance and was just now BLOWN AWAY by Lindsey Buckingham frantically performing 'Big Love'....remembering that I've got a PBS video of a solo show he did here during which he performed that song (and several others) with SUCH an intensity you would have thought he had a gun to his head...!!!
Before that it was Montrose(the great Ronnie Montrose giving Sammy Hagar his first job)and a disc of rehearsal tapes circa '73 and a 1974 show from somewhere in Cleveland which simply totally RAWK! Tho a rehearsal version of Space Staion #5 drraaaags horribly in a vamped section they do... I played that for a local bank's VP who's a patient and who useta be a rock radio DJ in Grand Rapids back in the 80s...he was like 'where the fuck did you get this?'

Lindsey Buckingham has got to be the most overlooked, gifted guitarist alive today. [glow=yellow,2,300]Strange to see Slipknot and Nick Drake so close together in the same post! But hey, that's what I like about you, Thorny. You've got such diverse tastes! [/glow] I've noticed that about myself, JAC. [thank U ]
