AT LAST! A new page! Now let me tell you more about when I met Robin Trower. Not much more to tell, really. He exuded a pleasant odor of Old Spice Swagger and this seemed to give him a lot of confidence. His guitar tech was a real sweetie. He told me that Robin and him sometimes liked to dress up as Batman and Robin and pretend the Joker was somewhere in the audience. This, I was surprised to learn, helped Trower concentrate a bit more diligently on certain solos he was beginning to forget how to play. "Not Alzheimer's," he was quick to explain. "Just a couple of faulty brain cells." I said, "Say no more, Robin me ol' boy. I know the boat yer sailin' in fer it's the same one that I traversed the human ocean in". I know, that was kind of weird, but I was kinda stoned, too. Yep.

You know these bastards weren't half bad. I know, I know, they weren't a "real" band. And I know that Mickey Dolenz played Monkey Boy. And I know that Davy Jones died not too long ago. And I know that Peter Tork was my least favorite Monkee. And I know that Mike Nesmith wore a sock hat in every single episode of their show. And I know that they started playing their own instruments and writing their own songs on their third album, the infectious and startling "Headquarters". But they weren't half bad. This album is about half bad, half good. I should toss it and play "Headquarters" instead but damned if I'm not sick to death of that one.

Other than death metal? Uhhh...Limbonic Art ain't death metal, is it? Guy just sings like a toad, that doesn't automatically qualify it as death metal, does it? Oh, it does? Well I guess I'm listening to death metal. Look at that rocker play the guitar!!! Amazing!

I know, ya probably didn't think I was hip enough to groove to the juicy grooviness of the Gaye man himself. Well, you all was wrong. I'm steppin' deep in it right now, kickin' on that wah-wah pedal and lettin' the mellow tone of the slide trombone lull me to a groovy sleep and some intense groovy groovy dreamin' of the Groovy Ghoulies wielding firearms in the groovy groovy hood.

What can I say? I dig the trumpet solo in "Mighty Mighty Man". I often like to think of myself as a mighty, mighty man myself. An estimation which, I've been told, is not so far off the mark.

Sometimes I like to play this at the aviary in the zoo, close my eyes and pretend that all the bird noises are part of the music. It adds a lot to the overall experience, you know? At least that's my opinion.

I mainly like "NSU" and that one song that I can't remember the name of...no wait, it's "Rollin' and Tumblin'". Now, I say I "like 'em", but that doesn't mean they don't baffle me. I'm always hard pressed to tell the noodling from the genius on this album. Too often Baker decides he's alone in the room, Bruce convinces himself he's the only one worth listening to and Clapton is believing all the hype that he's God and such. Personally though I like Eric's slow hand neck tickling I'd guess that God is probably the better guitarist. He's had a lot more time to practice and hone the craft. And that's not meant to offend anyone's religious sensibilities but when you call your band "Cream" you only get what you pay for. And that ain't no lie.

I played a Dead bootleg last night, feeling confident it would help lull me to sleep. It did just that and so I was happy. Not that they're boring, on the contrary, it's just that the long strange trip crosses the realm of REM sleep fairly quickly when combined with 10 milligrams of Ambien. I love it I love it I love it.

You know, I think ole Willie Nelson's been smoking pot for a long, long time. I wonder how high his tolerance is? He better be getting some killer mo diller or else he's just wasting time.

I don't usually listen to this shit but I'm right smack dab in the middle of an extramarital affair and the queen bitch I'm dancin' with is down with the flo. Soon enough she'll dump me and I'll be shufflin' to the David Arkenstone discs I keep in my bedroom drawer. That Arkenstone shit is good to seduce the wife to but if I whipped that out on this fine piece of sweet potato pie I'm hooked up with now I'd be laughed at to my face. At which point violence would ensue, the culmination of which would find me sharing a concrete cell with some of her rough ridin' homies.

Been listening to those Sex Pistols all day, just a takin' me back to the good old days when I was pissed at my folks just for having me. I'm sure they were just as pissed at each other for the same reason.
